I'm sorry, I really don't mean to be rude, Kjetil, but I can't help myself from laughing out loud when reading this news article. It's hilarious! =)))

Thanks for the laugh, Kjetil. Again, I hope you're not taking any offense. =)

I would take offence if I were him... I did tease him a lot quite some time ago
but now I know that, like me, he's dyslectic. Typos are normal for him. He tends
to fuck up in the English language and I tend to fuck the Greek language.
There's nothing funny here.
Get in his position.
I might NOT share his "political" or technical views but I can understand him in
that matter.

I se tow typos, and some missing words, however I don't se any thing extremely funny, at least the 2en paragraph looks okey, it most the the "essen" word right? I think I can se some logic, question where are you from?

Mocking a guy's dyslexia is mean, IMO. I am always impressed by how Kjetil goes on posting as well as he can, although it must be quite a struggle.

A spell checker does not help when a person is severely dyslexic.

I'm not easyely offended, I think where are where different. For me it's an difference between using my spelling errors against me or being able to have a laugh, spelling errors can be funny. When you have the problems to my extent you need to be self ironic, after all I'm not doing it on intent.

Being self ironic is not easy you need to be in the right mode.

There are some errors but I had no trouble understanding the post. That Kjetil might have some problems with the English language I see nothing funny in. I find myself missing some words now and then or spelling them all wrong :-)

I always thought Kjetil can speak English, but isn't familiar with writing it. He regularly uses similar sounding words instead of the right ones, and in addition some typos are added.

I have only slight problems with his texts, sometimes it's not easy to decipher the content, and he tends to misunderstand me - but apart from that he is OK, despite being someone disliking MorphOS :)))

No offence, but maybe it's more appropriate to be discussing the report as opposed to it's presentation. I'm sure Kjetil won't mind the lack of limelight form his newfound career as a comedian. ;) I hope we're all grown up enough to get over language and "disablity" issues.

That's spell checking for you. Unfortunately a spell checker (which I believe Kjetil uses) can only check if a word matches anything in the database and suggest likely corrections. Until spell checkers actually start UNDERSTANDING the language they are spell checking they won't know that "Ive" should really have been "I've", not "Eve".

And remember:
Otters need computers too!!!! ;-)

http://www.nattty.de/Img_0011.jpg ... Well, there's that DVD-housinged mockup/proof-of-concept that's been mentioned... Now if Eyetech just gets in touch with Sanyo's case supplier, they're set. ;>

More seriously, this is my first look at the belly of the beast... is that flat black 'component' in the center one of those strip-type connectors for the TFT interface* (LVDS/DVI, where one is presumed roughly equal to the other, as far as I've been able to tell) ... or just a pair of ICs/a resistor block?

If anyone else already played count-the-connectors and got Eyetech's latest latest story as to what's going on, that always makes interesting news. ;)

---

*If so, yes, this would imply that it's already been there the whole time I've been vaguely whining about it... Not that it'd be horrible to get a uA1 now and a DVI enabled uA1+ later, but given the lag and uncertaintly in getting just this one new revision to market, I have to wonder if that's better than doing it 'right' once... What was this about some proprietary magic bus, anyway, when you could just cram Cardbus and CF bridges on a PCI riser?

Ispell for linux, nice tool :-?

Until spell checkers actually start UNDERSTANDING the language they are spell checking

Thay exist how ever they are not free.

they won't know that "Ive" should really have been "I've", not "Eve".

Eve is correct in that original news item... :o)

I think it's Essen, Video Essen and Picture Essen, essen inn germen means eating. ex. Video eating, Picture eating... :o)

I have checked whit the online version of clue, I use clue when I can't spell the english word, I just type inn the Norwegian words and then I have it,

Ispell will not give me a match if the length of what I spell do not match the length of the word I where trying to write. ex. words whit dubbel symbols.

'Transformator?' I'm talking about the black 'line' to the left of the video(?) RAM in that shot, a few inches 'in' from the yellow label on the port cluster.

@Kjetil: Generally conduction trumps convection when it comes to cooling chips, and our concept of heat 'rising' has more to do with the densities of fluids than anything else... A chip and heatsink mounted 'upside down' will perform roughly the same as one mounted 'properly;' the fan forces the air to move and heat to exchange regardless of what convection would naturally do. The power supply they're using is a two-stage one as far as I know (12v transformer or simple switching supply outside the box, then the 'extra' one inside to break out the voltages needed), so it shouldn't get *too* hot.

I'd worry about those power transistors on the back of the board, which would seem to always wind up in a 'dead spot' with poor airflow... but I think there was some talk of changing that in a later layout, and if ITX does leave clearance for them, they could probably be coupled to the case itself with a few scraps of thermal pad.

Oh, and I'm getting used to it, but the article was no worse than what Babelfish will usually spit out... If 'Eve' is correct, I still can't make out what the last sentence is supposed to mean, but not having been to the show, I wouldn't know anyway. Nothing that makes my native-speaking mind bust out laughing...?

I do get a headache reading some of the technical arguments, but if there's one thing they prove, it's that the 'simplicity' of the MMU-controlled emulation is a little more complex in practice. (As someone else pointed out, that's actually only handling the case where a program refers to something relatively 'unexpected?' I'd have to reread everything again, my brain's not very functional this week...)

I agree! Links to aw.nut? :-D The insanity has no bounds.

Moderators, the news item is lying, the stuff is fortunately not "on" aw.nut, goatse.cx or any other similar troll site. Please replace the abusive links with these links that actually lead to the referred to movies and pics:
