With this mail I want to thank everyone (bPlan, Genesi, MorphOS developer team and all the volunteers) involved into the PegasosII and MorphOS for keeping up the good old Amiga spirit and showing us the future for Amiga. Big thanks to all of you who you spent all the years onto the Amiga and finally found a new real path for the Amiga. For me as user PegasosII and MorphOS is everything that I want to see a modern Amiga should be. Quite modern and affordable Hardware, a nice clean and fast Operating System and all the developers and 3rd party people heavily supporting it. Without you the Amiga would still be a dead thing but with all you people we are happy to look forward into a nice future.

Thanks again.

See, someone is publicly thanking the people involved into PegasosII and MorphOS, without even spending one word on AmigaONE or AmigaOS4 because of not intending to cause bad feelings or harm people and what happens, some OS4 losers show up and cause trouble.

No need for that.

If some Pegasos/MorphOS users & i mean some not all, have Dyslexia or are on drugs/medication and looking at the words Pegasos/MorphOs 1.4 ends up looking like Amiga/AmigaOs1.4 them leave them be as they need all the help they can get & should not be made fun of.

Well, if you want to have that bastardized, badly implemented unamigalike mess thrown together by people who patently only have a vague idea of what they're doing, (or none at all) which is still miles off being near a proper release, and all this without even the patronage of your Name Gods Amiga Inc, then I suppose you could say that AmigaOS4 is your true AmigaOS. I will laugh quietly at you from the background.

I smelled a flamewar coming up for the first 2 lines, the (unintentional?) wording of suggestively stating that MOS/Pegasos is the only real Amiga solution is enough to trigger yet another flamewar.

Now you'll have people fighting over those wordings, and we'll just have to repeat all the old statements we've been hearing/typing for years, just wait till samface gets here.

Oh well

BTW, what's going on with the Ainc/Bplan,genesi, whomever courtcase? it's been silent over that one for awhile now.

I really dislike the OS4 m68k integration though, and the memory handling. I think both are implemented poorly (setting aside a fixed amount of memory gives me the creeps, why isn't that done dynamically?).

They don't set aside memory, but a memory address range, wich exists, but doesn't really take up (much? any?) memory untill an 68k app gets loaded, that one gets loaded into that range & then emulated.

As with all solutions, it'll have benefits & drawbacks, we'll see how it evolves.

The memory handling i like tho, ExecSG is nice

you mean you didn't see the flame bait? I'm a relatively neutral onlooker and it jumped out at me! The only amigas I own were made by CBM so I can't say I have a real axe to grind but I do know after lurking here for the last couple years just how to yank on the Red or Blue ppl's chains. let's see.....

>keeping up the good old Amiga spirit and showing us the future for Amiga.

> finally found a new real path for the Amiga.

>everything that I want to see a modern Amiga should be

>Without you the Amiga would still be a dead thing

You may feel all these statements are true...but you also have to know it's gonna piss off the AOS4 fans. Thus my statement about flame-bait is right on.
I could have easily written that statement to "thank" all the MOS leaders without baiting ppl but then...that was the whole idea. :)
