I saw news item somewhere - 'Blackshoot' is a 2D shoot'em up written with AmiBlitz 2 supporting graphics and sound cards. Versions for AmigaOS 3 and AmigaOS 4 are available. - So what's te catch? Is there AmiBlitz for OS4? Is it possible to convert PerfectPaint (written in AmiBlitz) for OS4?

No.. There isn't a version of AmiBlitz specific to AmigaOS4. The AOS4 version of Blackshoot just uses OS calls for the mouse clicks instead of polling the hardware.

The OS4 version of Blackshoot isn't AOS4 specific at all. It should run under just about anything (that has the capable hardware.) This includes Amithlon, UAE and MorphOS.

OS4 version is just a propaganda gag... like everything OS4 releated.

Yeah, OS4 version is just 68k binary. It works in MorphOS too btw but is unusably slow due to hit flood (I only tried it quickly in 1280x1024x8 mode). Looks nice game btw, similar to Birdieshoot?

It seems that this "os4 native" game is just a 68k game that works on OS4, yes. Oh well...

I don't understand your comment, though. How is everything OS4 related just propaganda? Thats nonsense. People ARE programming things for OS4 because they've got OS4 and a C compiler, and they want to. Thats what hobby programmers do :-)

Uhh.. so out of interest, why doesn't the OS3 version use that too? :)

It's really quite stupid to release software that bangs the hardware these
days, if you have an alternative (considering your 68k software can run on any
of 5 different "platforms" now..)

The game works very nicely on 640x480x16 .. with bigger resolutions the charactes to be shot arrive from "off gamescreen" area..

Didn't you already start a thread about OS4/Perfect Paint/AmiBlitz? Wasn't this already answered? Email Bernd Roesch and bung him some cash if you're really that moist about getting AmiBlitz native to anything other than 68k Amigas.
