Just test this shit!!!!

How about updating the install script so it don't overwrite system classes!!!!!
after first reboot, Amidock stooped working find and shell from workbench menu stooped working!!!
sorry to say ImageEFX looks old and dated, how about updating the render for 24bit,
it's dead slow is this the 68k version?

if any one tend to install it make a backup of your system first!!!!!

Hi Kjetil,

We noticed the problem occurs elsewhere too. The installation script already existed for some time in the Lite distribution and worked ok on a certain other platform. We made small adjustments for the OS4 version and this was overlooked. We will change it and upload a new archive.

No need to call the program "shit" though, is there?

don't blame Computer City or Nova Design. You should be very thankful for this piece of free software which was made available for OS4 users too.

If you're too baka to know how to use a system then it's ABSOLUTELY you damn own problem! You probably even used "Novice mode"... I'm pretty sure! Go, make your homework before you blame someone else for your own stupidness or lameness.

Anyway.. next time enable the Protokol, so you can easily lock up what was changed and not on your system.

I'm getting to like this utility more and more every time I use it. While I do find the GUI design a bit awkward (being more familiar with the Gimp / Photoshop Elements - boo, hiss!), most of the cool features are in there if you just bother looking around a bit and familiarizing yourself with the layout.

So any complaints I might have in that respect is just personal struggles to learn a new interface. And my shortcomings shouldn't really be blamed on developers, now should they. :-p


While the current IFX (I'm running 4.5, don't know what's lacking in the Lite) won't bitchslap Gimp/Elements all over the place, it's still qualified to at least enter the race. And it's more than suitable for everyday tasks - and then some.

ImageFX is an application I can definitely recommend.

This is exactly hte reason why Mos has MOSSYS: on HD:. all system essentials are on safe directory, so no older installer will trash them..

You'll get a lot of this with old prorams,.... a lot of them try to install various uility libraries (tooltypes, Mui vidgets etc) and overwrite system files.

So.. Check each installer script before running them.

Well, I wrote the ImageFX Lite installer with several security issues in mind when it was first released for MorphOS -- to protect Nova Design from the abundant filesharers that play on UAE running OS3.9.

What I don't understand is why this lite version uses the MorphOS installer I wrote (untested no less) for OS4.

Hey Kjetil, sorry to say this, but only loosers uses installer scripts anyway! Installer must die a horrible and quick death. There is no way of protecting your machine from an installer script that doesn't like your way of doing things. Installer sux!

some people have said they were amazed of AmigaDE's/intent's application installer ... drag & drop & use, IIRC ...

The problem is that the installer might have assumed MorphOS paths, where whatever you put in LIBS:, C: etc doesn't overwright system files.
This way it could have trashed the OS4 system by not checking the already
available versions.
