Why does Genesi manage to price their G4 motherboards roughly about 2000 SEK (or 200-250 EUR/USD) lower than Eyetech?

Shouldn't the question be reverse the other way around ?
The name is more valuable than the product itself...

Oh, plus genesi makes their boards "themself" instead of buying them from someone else.
But still the price have been the same for a year or so? So I don't know if I consider it cheap, but affordable. The AmigaONE is not at it's current configuration.

But still at price of one Pegasos G4 board I could buy ten x86 boards.

In reply to Comment 9 (itix):
Well go and buy 10 x86 boards, then, if that's what you want. No-one is FORCING you to buy a G4 Peg, are they?

I mean (here comes the obligatory car analogy) I could buy 10 regular cars for the price of an M12 GTO, but does that mean the GTO is overpriced? Not necessarily.

You don't build expensive cars from cheap Lada parts. But those expensive Pegasos and AmigaOne boards are full of cheapo VIA chips. (Still obsessed to buy Peg2 as soon as I can afford it...)

$1,299 Canadian (+14.5% tax) will buy an
AmigaOne G4 @800 MHz with 256 Meg. SDram (ecc reg. 133MHz)

While a Peg II G4 @1.0 GHz is
5,769 SEK = $995.28 Can.
435 SEK = $75 Can. for 256 meg. of DDR PC2100 ram
Total $1,070

And DDR PC2100 is faster AND cheaper!

That sure sucks!

YES, the GTO is overpriced.

Maybee the reason for the AmigaOne is more expensive is that EyeTech pay their employes and for using the Amiga name. Also remember that included in the price of the AmigaOne is AmigaOS4.0

Eyetech has employees?

Every Pegasos includes MorphOS. What is your point? Plus, it was announced that only early bird buyers would receive OS4 for free.

AND the pegasos owners actually have morphos running for all the time where amigaone owners will get it when there amigaones are much more outdated than they where in the first place

I've got your 'Eyetech pays their employees' line swingin' pal.

Just shut your goddamn cakehole. Genesi did actually pay their
hands/are paying them. When 'The Name' pays us all then you can bitch.

Maybe Eyetech aren't paying Amiga and that's why Amiga aren't paying
their help (for two+years now..) Hmmm?

Just a thought.
