Note that the AVI is only 25FPS.. the demo runs a LOT higher FPS when seen 'live'. Its nothing amazing, but it is a good demo with fast effects and some nice design.

A good start to OS4 demoscening, I think.

In reply to Comment 6 (hooligan/dcs):
Is this actually written for AmigaOne - or is it the first OS4 demo - I mean, when OS4 is released for Blizzard and CSPPC will this demo work? Or does it make use of A1-specific features?

Just watched the DivX, looks quite nice, seems to have been "inspired" by Planet Potion in a couple places, a bit short but good!

AFAIK a betatester has already run it on an A4000... i will also try it as soon as i've fixed my CSPPC OS4 install...

According to Crisot its just a quick 10-day production, so, i think Universe could be someone to watch out for... interested to see what they'll do with Warp3D, too.

Maybe a new group in the international scene, but in France, it's a
well known group who did some nice demos before.

ftp://ftp.scene.org/pub/parties/2000/ukonx00/amiga/demo/universe_paradise.lha 68k/AGA
ftp://ftp.scene.org/pub/parties/2001/slach01/amiga/demo/unv-powerup.lzx PPC/CGX/AHI

Just for a few of them.
Oh, BTW, the PPC demo runs on Classic Amigas ONLY (A4000/PPC/060 recommended for best experience)

I don't know what to check. Peter said OS4 is lacking the 3d drivers so it doesn't work on OS4.. so enlighten us mortals a bit here.. does it work, or does it not? :)

Well, I don't know anything about this demo at all but I would assume by your very own question that... 3D native drivers aren't ported yet and so it's using software renderer.

tsss.... 4 MB just because "elf is a monster" ?

The executable ELF of the demo is 195 KB uncompressed size... rest is datas... JPG and MP3. JPG are 100% quality, MP3 is 160 kbps... But I can also do 10% JPGs and 32 kbps MP3 for a 300 KB demo.

For some people (comment 26), I'm sorry is the demo is crap. For sure, if it was compiled for morphos, 3 times slower, 2 times bigger, this may be a kick ass demo! But it is Os 4...

I always attributed the 'ELF is a monster' comment to Stefan Hoser back in the anti-PuP FUD spreading days when WarpUP was the hardware independant solution for the future <rolls eyes>

Clearly I think the post was sarcasm ;-)

You are correctm people forget how much room 'high' quality audio and graphics take up compared with 1988 bit resoultions.
