Funny, there are many Amiga games over at EPIC's page, and in their webshop.

Are these hate campaigns commonplace from OS4 Evangelists? Do you honestly believe, that it will make them write games to you? :)

Epic is professional company and should not dig inn to any childish MOS vs AOS arguments,

Any way I don't care about old stuff what I won't as an costumer is new PPC native games and programs for the platform I use, regardless of what they think about etch other.

Well we won't disagree on that but at least Epic are out there making new stuff and promoting the market...this too is a necessary component :-D

As a consumer you made a poor choice if you expect new software in any short timeframe. Time to get off your arse and quit being just a consumer? Start promoting the platform if you believe in it....and I don't mean the circle jerk Amiga forums.

And if you won't mind suggestions, I'd replace the AmigaOS/G4 with AmigaOS/PPC, as G4 is not a platform, unless your programs doesn't run on G3 and G5, but specifically on G5.

As to the "I'm thinking about removing some beta tester as they are not providing me whit the help I do expect, at current time I found more bug then they do" it's usually so with each project - you are the one who knows the source and the typo/bug sensitive parts better. So I don't think it's your betatesters fault.

In reply to Comment 18 (Kjetil):
AmigaOS 4 really sucks compared to MorphOS, and I mean REALLY SUCKS! That becomes crystal clear to anyone who has used both for a while (OS4 is even hardly usable). It's a bloated, unstable, slow-as-hell, unfinished pile of <bleep>. Heck, it's not even as Amiga compatible as MorphOS is, FAR from it. Even in two more years of development from this point it will hardly have passed MorphOS 1.4 in speed, functionality, Amiga compatibility and stability, and MorphOS 1.4 was released A YEAR ago! Not to mention that it's tied to old, crippled and embarrasingly expensive hardware. Developing for OS4 on the AmigaOne and/or classic Amigas makes no sense at all since it still has such a long way to go before it even gets close to even HAVING A CHANCE of being a serious commercial entity, with even a REMOTE chance of having a serious market beyond these 200 religious nerds you see posting shite all the time on various forums.

MorphOS is not quite there yet either, but it has come much further down the road already (although it has some serious gaps, which could easily be filled with traditional Amiga software (software that runs fine on MorphOS but would probably not even start on OS4!)). Compared to Hyperions OS effort, MorphOS is blazingly fast, stable, Amiga compatible and has functionality that OS4 could only dream of. And that is from the one year old 1.4 release; now another year of development has passed. And the Pegasos hardware is better in every single aspect, and it's actually available (and not (unoficially) discontinued like the A1 seems to be, while Eyetech is hoping for MAI/Inguard to start making their EUR 700 Articia based Teron Mini boards).

Let the Friedens proceed with their little OS, and let's hope that some day someone will come and pay the Amiga tax to be able to "get this holy OS" onto their hardware (for whatever strange reason that might be), and then perhaps, in some 2-3 years of time from now, the "Amiga One" and "AmigaOS 4" will something worth putting developing efforts on. But now it isn't. So give it a rest, please.

hey AmigaOS40 is not finished, and form bench marks, How long did it take MorphOS to become what it is?

AmigaOS/One G4 @ 1Hgz is faster at writing/reading bytes from memory then your MorphOS G4 @ 1Ghz.

MorphOS kernel design is crap!!!! The OS is just a big letancy...

Recently there have bin updates to FPU emulation, on beta testers version,
what is not working on pre well soon be changed, AmigaOS40 is not finished,
how many time to need to restate this?

MorphOS have by passed the version 1.0, this miens that MorphOS have every thing need
to be self reliant, the pre version of AmigaOS40, have about 50% PPC native,
and there is many components that are unfinished inn pre-version or missing
for things like games missing, like Warp3D, and AmigaInput drivers,
this NOT the same as AmigaOS40 is crap.

AmigaOS4.X main gools are full memmory protection / SMP, all ready the
unfinished version of GDB integrated inn the pre-version, have helped me
solv menny problems. this feature that MorphOS do not have,

Sigh, you'll never learn will you?

Read/write speeds to ram has nothing to do with kernel design, and besides, where does this bullshit story that the Pegasos should somehow be slower than A1 (if anything, they should be more or less equal, with the same cpu/ram setup) come from?

..besides, you don't know anything about the design of MorphOS, something you've quite efficiently proven over time by your ignorant statements...

Please, just stop now while you're not too far behind...

You can never have full MP or SMP in the AOS environment without breaking all legacy applications (and that includes all current ports to OS4) .. atleast with the sandbox design of MorphOS you can have all this outside of abox, and still be able to run all legacy apps...

..and for once you're right, MorphOS doesn't have GDB, but GDB is not a feature in itself, it's an application .. just because no-one bothered porting GDB doesn't mean you can't debug your apps in MorphOS...

Yesyes, I know of this buggy piece of software .. it's been discussed to death on moobunny already...

..but wait, what's this? The Peg2 is more than 100MB/s faster than the A1 at 32bit write? How can this be?!?!?!</sarcasm>

This benchmark isn't even benchmarking what it's supposed to benchmark, much less doing it accurately (not to mention that you are comparing two different CPUs, and completely different RAM (which isn't even specified), and probably completely different system setup (here's a clue; you can init various hw modes) .. which was why I suggested to Crisot to do the tests on identical Linux setups (and make sure you compare as identical RAM as possible (Registered or not, same CacheLevel etc) to atleast make a somewhat comparable benchmark)...

..did you ever wonder why Crisot refused to do his benchmark under Linux, in more identical circumstances, and instead left off in a raging cloud of abusive remarks?

If anything, you should be complaining .. the "benchmark" clearly shows the Peg2 is much faster than A1 in the most commonly used memwrite, and about on par with everything else, except 64bit write, shouldn't you be asking why, instead of spreading bullshit like "MorphOS kernel design is crap!!!!" and "The OS is just a big letancy...", of which neither you have any clue about...

I understand your point perfectly, I don't think they are worth a s**h okey...

..did you ever wonder why Crisot refused to do his benchmark under Linux, in more identical circumstances, and instead left off in a raging cloud of abusive remarks?

most from abusive language and repeted from some one like you, or you friend Anonymous that provoked this, I did big mistake when replayed that for shore or tried defending AmigaOS form this abuse of common sense.

well, yes I how ever inn most other cases it the other way around, so even if the test is not 100% correct, it generally show slower read/write speed on Peg+MOS, I don't know how the benchmark program where created, and how it is effected by hi cpu load from background task like your MorphOS, how ever there most be a reason for the pore overall performance, or are you saying the results where tampered whit?
