Maxon considers to release Cinema 4D for Amiga. Since years Maxon does not sell the Cinema 4D version for Amiga anymore. The last Amiga version was Cinema 4D V5. Around 1999, Cinema 4D was released for free on a Amiga-magazin CD. The Maxon people said they would offer the Amiga version for download on their website. If people wanted them they would release the Amiga version for free. But unfortunatly they have moved houses and don't have the old software versions anymore. Please help them to release Cinema 4D for Amiga. If you have an old Cinema version please contact them and send them the binary so that they can release it for free. If you want them to release it to the Amiga community please contact them (phone/email) and tell them that you like this idea. Cinema4D rules. The current pc/mac version is lightyears ahead of the old Amiga version now. I'd love to see it on morphos/aos4 though, but I doubt they'll pool resources to contiune development of such a small platform :)

Wasn't there an offer to buy the source on eBay some time ago?

Cheers

What about the rest of their Amiga software then?

I'd rather see them placing ALL of their Amiga software on the site. It's not being developped anymore so no harm is done.

instead of Fighting some compagnies that aren't interested in Amiga market, PLEASE help CADTECH that is working now since weeks on a new version Imagine3D For Amiga that will support new features of AOS4, full powerpc rendering, new improved interface and editor. Imagine (IFA) has been improved and still developped since 1998-1999 by CAdtech for Amiga market.
Imagine is powerfull, as it still the ONLY 3D software developped and improved on Amiga market, people should buy it (it is really not expensive) and help CADtech to get more money to pay more developpers to improve even quickly Imagine.
If people want to make 3D on AmigaOS they should buy Imagine that is a reference on our computer.

Excuse me, but then where is the promised WarpOS version? Or any update, if we're at it.

I for one would like to see Imagine happening though, and a MorphOS or even a 68K version would delight me :) But to be honest, ATM I'm a bit sceptical, given the fate of the promised updates for Amiga.

Tornado was also not that bad!

It had bugs but lot of features. Also PowerPC and hardware 3D acceleration was available in Tornado. A shame H&P couldn't get the sources...

Hi,
sorry to say, but the message above is complete bullshit.
I don't know who thought it up, but i think stirring up hope
here is not a very kind thing to do.
Maxon will definitly not make the AMIGA version of CINEMA 4D
freely available, so please refrain from requesting it.

Cheers

Maxon can not release this software since Maxon is not the owner but was only the distributor of it.
Please ask the authors of the respecitve software on this.

You can't release it because it would compromise future sales of a currently in-development Cinema4D for AmigaOS/MorphOS?

I think this sounds very cool! At least you have not forgotten your roots and the guys that made you big.

Cheers and keep up the good work!

Hello,
I spoke with the Maxon people on the phone.

Fact is: MAXON does NOT want to release Cinema 4D.

The original post that Maxon would consider to release
the Amiga version seems to be based on a misunderstanding.

I'm sorry for the trouble caused.

Gunnar

Yes, that sounds cool, but it wasn't what i wrote :)
Just to make it clear:
There are no plans on developing future CINEMA versions for Amiga in any way.
There are no plans on making older AMIGA CINEMA verisons freely available under any circumstances.
Or in short: No :)

Cheers
Björn

I don't understand why it's not possible to make it freely available.

If there will be no new Cinema 4D for the Amiga, then why now release the old version ?

It was already released on cover CD's years ago. So it's unlikely that you will get any money from the guys who would buy it. So why not release it ? Even many much bigger software companies have released old versions of their game/application,

I would buy future Cinema 4D for the OS4 :) But as you said there will be no OS4 / MOS version

I already have cover cd version of latest Amiga cinema 4D, so atleast I'm not going to buy it anymore :)

I bought a second hand copy of C4D and it really rocks on my Pegasos2...
What about try to obtain som used copies instead of naging Maxon for the impossible ? =)

I've seen a lot of non-expensive sales of C4D around, it's really worth every penny even if it's aged a bit compared to the Win/Mac-version.
Try ebay, you'll might be lucky as I was (just 20 Pounds).

Will there be MorphOS compatible version? Becouse if there won't be, I'm not interested :-)

I used Imagine on my A1200 quite a lot, when I was using it actively...

It will be enough if they make it Amiga compatible, i.e. running PPC code on classic Amigas (the *real* Amigas). That way it would work FINE on MorphOS, classic Amigas, and also (hopefully) on upcoming versions of OS4.

So your opinion is that AOS4 isn't backwards compatible? Yeah right. Interesting opinion. </tongue in cheek>

IMNSHO the only way to get _any_ interesting new software is to convince the developers that there are a large enough market for them. Helping them by making it possible for their software to run on MOS/AOS4/"Classic" */AROS** would be the best way to ensure that the market _is_ large enough.

It is sad that as speed becomes available to make 3d programs more usable, the time available to play with the software disappears.

in other words: i think its so good that it deserve buying it 2x if a
