Our humble meeting turned out to be a huge success, around 100 persons attended. Afer ten years without similar parties in Norway, hopefully this was the boost that the Amiga Scene i Norway needed, topping it off with the announcement about budget MicroA1s, the scene feels vibrant. Kay Are Ulvestad has written an excellent report on his page.

Erlend Kristiansen has already put up his photos on the web here:

More photos will follow. Keep an eye on the official site: http://amigaexpo.polarboing.com

What is good to see is that the guys (no girls?) in the pictures are quite young - some of them must have been born since the Amiga first appeared. You would think after all this time that the remaining Amiga users would all be old.

Yes I am gay ... offcourse.. what else should I be? yellow or pink?

:) but this is the Amiga community.. and what shoyld it be without personal attacks and trolling. Thats a mystery to me.

But it was a great show. Came arround ¦00 and we expected arround 30-40 maybe. Next time it will be better as this was some form of test if the interest were there.

Have a nice evening and.. no I am not gay. But maybe only on Fridays.. who knows :)

Regards,
Michal

If that's the 'budget' price, don't tell me the 'actual retail price'! ;)

I've seen some of the moderated msgs here and I think the best moderation would be showing them up as well as classifying the ip as well as the nick... they went as low as they could... pitty is that most people don't get to see how low they had went

The price of AOne in all its forms is ridicolous if compard to Pegasos2.

Not really. We've all seen enough stupid, obsessive messages on forums to last a lifetime.

600 euros for MicroA1, 500 euros for Pegasos 2. Come on, it's not THAT MUCH more expensive. Especially when it has RAM and graphicschip on it.

If it had a G4/1ghz instead of that 750FX (for the same price) people would complain less.

Don't want it don't buy it... it's a winner formula! Why do you care where others spend their money!? Do you feel thretened by 'inferior' technology!? I don't understand why... after all Pegasos is as good as it gets, you should be using it instead of being here naging!

If my observation is anything to go by, Amiga users historically have been a lot younger in Europe than they have in the US for example. Probably a lot to do with the fact that the Amiga was positioned more as a games machine in Europe and as a video professional's computer of choice in the US. This is still very much reflected in pictures from US and European fairs for example.
