Due to censorship by Argo the thread is locked but it is interesting to see a major Anti Amiga Inc webmaster turn in to a Genesi attacker and a certain website defender.

It's also easy to dismiss the fish as lamers when you don't live in the pond and don't have to compete for water.

It's stupid to forget the lessons of the past. They just come back if you do.

I guess Wayne took into account KennyR/Xraal's history of trolling and bad temper. IMO KennyR has been a HUGE factor in making Amiga.org an unpleasent environment at times. I want to congratulate Wayne on coming clean with the past, it takes a real many to admit to mistakes and KennyR just replied with his usual anti-Amiga Inc/KMOS propaganda.

Why don't you just use a nick similar (MikeB^ for instance) or contact Christian Kemp about it?

Or maybe it's like the same way so many AWN users had their passwords locked out by mysterious server errors, like Seehund. Cue Twilight Zone theme.

No AFAIK I always used my ANN account in the past. Ever since I couldn't use "Mike Bouma" I mostly haven't bothered writing any nick at all. I believe I have been rather consistent in that. Neither am I here to stir up trouble, however I am rather opinionated. FYI non of my anonymous messages have been moderated. If I would wanted to stir up trouble doing so anonymously makes more sense.

What needs to happen is an acceptance that the hardware war is lost.

AOS4 needs to be made to run on standard hardware.

Amiga enthusiasts who carefully kept money aside for their new amiga have since bought pcs.

A new amiga has to be something totally amazing to convince them to spend out again, or no brainer cheap.

On the OS side an AOS4 needing special hardware will cost users hundreds.

He wasn't specifically targeting KennyR. KennyR replyed in a way that, in Wayne's mind, put him in a specific group of individuals that behave in a certian way. He was just used as an example of what this group is like, as Wayne stated. I'm not going to debate anyone's posting history.
The point of the rant is obviously lost on many, too many.

oh, one other thing. I should have mentioned this first.
Would you rather see an on going multi-page argument between KennyR and Wayne with the very people Wayne was talking about in his rant taking pot shots at both of them only making the whole thing worse. If you'd rather see a raging flame war blazing across the front page of Amiga.org, you're going to be sorely disappointed.

I don't believe Hyperion have a say. It is most likely spelled out in their contract with Amiga, Inc. (KMOS) as to what platform(s) Amiga OS is to be ported to. Contracts are rather very specific in their details about what is to be done, what is covered and what is not covered by the contract, sometimes in minute detail. Though I assume people will believe what they want to believe.

That's not the reason they give when they're asked how come they don't port AOS4 to the Pegasos.

Apple's new G5 iMac HW would be a killer in PPC market i.e. it has near zero competition against other PPC HW vendors.

Either you're dumb or you love to play dumb if you forgot all the crap Buck did, lies, scam, insults toward companies and individuals.
God it's awful to witness such idiocy. Have your memory checked.

The point of the post was for Wayne (yet again) to trade on his past glory and make cheap shots whilst appearing to 'elevate himself' as some sort of visionary...forgetting that he himself can no longer be considered an independant and trusted source.

Locking the thread, deleting posts etc. is just par for the course and really quite questionable behavoir.

The trouble is, quite a bit of the "crap, lies, scam, insults" you're talking about have turned out to be misperceptions or other people's inventions.

For example, Wayne said he was screwed by Genesi. Now, in this thread, we first see hints that he had his hand in the till, and then an apparently leaked email describing his performance and termination from Genesi. If this email's on the level, then the situation is very different from how it was described. Remember that we typically hear only the accusor's side in these things, not the response. Similarly with another webmaster hired by Genesi; when things broke down, he went public with a few selected quotes and his own description. Public sentiment rallied behind him. Genesi stayed completely quiet about it, so we never got the other side of this private story.

There are other examples. There was a big stink about Genesi putting a "logic bomb" in the Crunchbox code when they were working on that project. Recently Mitch Parket, the guy who made that accusation, publically retracted it. Like all retractions, this got much less publicity than the original accusation.

I suggest you look at your list of "all the crap Buck did" and consider how much you can verify through objective sources, and how much is unsubstatiated accusation by an individual with a possible motive, how much is misperception of intent, etc.

I'm not saying you're playing dumb, too, but it's possible to come to the wrong conclusions, as the examples show.
