Fix of some bugs found in 0.6 release.
Fixes:
- List/Thumbnails mark in the menu
- Loading of files too big to fit into memory (was crashing)
- More tolerant to corrupted jpeg files.
- Workaround for MorphOS 1.4 bug (in fullscreen mode drive popup was causing screen switch). Ugly but should work.

ShowGirls 0.6a - update : Comment 1 of 13 | ANN.lu |
Posted by catohagen on 10-Sep-2004 14:36 GMT | Very nice program.
I would like to be able to switch some sort of slideshow on, so it just
skips to next picture to the end with the delay you specified.
Or use cursor keys to display picture without the need to press enter for
showing the current picture selected.
And saving the position of the thumbnail area and picture display area after
you have changed it (i prefer sliding the thumbnail area all the way to the right so one and one thumbnail are displayed ontop of eachother, giving you
more space to display pictures.)
Anyway, great work, I rarely use mysticview anymore. |

Posted by HammerD on 10-Sep-2004 14:37 GMT | I found 2 issues in the original 0.6:
-after cropping an image showgirls added a large black border around the image
-attempting to re-size an image smaller, and then larger, keeps making the image smaller instead of larger. Can you take a look to see if you can replicate that?
Thanks |

No, i will not add this. if you want to view next previous picture in the dirvetory without selecting it with enter, then use pageup/down key. If you would not need enter, reaching end of the list would mean watching all the pictures which is not needed.
And saving the position of the thumbnail area and picture display area after
Download BetterBalance class fro aminet (search for MCC_Betterbalance or MCC_BBalance). SG will use it and group sizes will be saved.
@HammerD

Cropping works just fine. The black border is probably due thet the image was centered in display area.
-attempting to re-size an image smaller, and then larger, keeps making the image smaller instead of larger. Can you take a look to see if you can replicate that?
In this version i added 'border' mode which was turned on by default. Redownload archive (0.6a) to make it off.And the picture is probably not getting smaller, but you have automatic display scaling enabled. |

i downloaded betterbalance and when starting SG, i cant drag at all, and if
i go to windowed mode, the window is really small, like 50x50 pixels and resize
gadget is gone.
The demo in betterbalance worked fine, and saved the settings. |

Posted by Michal 'kier' Wozniak on 10-Sep-2004 16:23 GMT | In reply to Comment 6 (JKD): to make betterbalance work, you need to delete ENV:mui/SHOWGIRLS#? files. Do the same for ENVARC. Also please redownload archive again (0.6a version) because i fixed some harmless hits. |

Posted by Leo on 10-Sep-2004 20:56 GMT | Some suggestions:
.A shortcut and menu to reset image to its original size (ie: depending on the mode, it will be image's original size, or win size if scale is enabled)... I suggest '*' key that is already a standard in all platforms/viewers.
.Easier way to switch between FS & Winmode: double-click on picture for example, as well as 'f' or 'ctrl+f' or 'alt+enter' key.
."Real" FS mode :) (no horizontal bar left on top of screen)

Posted by Bifford on 13-Sep-2004 17:33 GMT | Hiya
Overall a good program - needs a lot of work though.
At the moment my MAIN problem is that every now and then Showgirls will quit for no reason and will delete the MUI prefs while it's at it! So there's me having now spent 20 mins getting the MUI prefs to how I like it for this program then the thign quits on me and its back to basics!
Secondly - Whenever I start the program it starts in FullScreen mode, no matter if I last left it NOT in FS mode. There's also no screenmode requestor to have it display on its own screen.
Get those things fixed and then I can hit you with MASSES more things that need fixing/adding ;-)
This could well evolve into a superb program! Keep it going! ;-)

You must edit the icon tooltype to toggle fullscreen or not, to get the program
to open on its own screen you use 'Settings/Mui' and define what screen you
want Showgirls to use. |

Posted by hooligan/dcs on 14-Sep-2004 04:06 GMT | I use ShowGirls daily and me neither have experienced any odd quits. And my MUI settings are still the same as when I got the first beta. |
