I just found this image that shows that MOS existed before OS4 :-)

But it is true that MorphOS existed long before OS4 (work on MorphOS started in 1996).

Yep.. Commodore purchased MOS semconductors years ago. They needed someone to design/make those spevial Gfx and sound chips of Commodore 64 (and Vic-20)..
