No updates for ages, outages... is Aminet dead or dying? You'd think if it were to be euthanised, the maintainers would at least bother to tell us!.. Perhaps they could release a "Goodbye to Aminet" DVD with the contents of Aminet on it? Would one DVD do? :)

It seems to me the biggest problem with Aminet is that a lot of mirrors are disappearing. Are there any plans to move the entire archive across to your service?

There are plans, but need to either get conscent from Aminet admins or wait for they to either say they will abandon it officially or continue it and be willing to expand to fit modern needs. (dependencies, platform/os, better searching, better upload and update of indexes etc..)

amirepo.net looks interesting. Aminet was (and still is somewhat) great because you knew everything was there. No need to search the whole web to find a program. But now programs are scattered everywhere.
