New important powerpci 2.16 bugfix update!

This is needed to get full speed out of ArakAttack Poseidon USB-drivers.
You can download the latest version always from Amihtlon Support Site powerpci update details:

This update fixes a problem in internal dma memory handler where memory was not given free, an so internal functions would slow down alot on high use of dma buffers as in USB low level drivers like ArakAttack for Poseidon USB-Stack.

An update to latest version of powerpci is highly recomended!

Best regards, Harald Frank

Does anyone here actually like this developer? Is this the guy we all wish would just leave this market forever and go bug Windows people with his .NET applications?

Hello Wayne Dresing PhD,

can you really image what value i gave about troll comments, or
what i do think about nice people like you? :)

See, even if there is only one user which happily use my software
on his system, thats millions and zillions more worth to me than
any troll comment, you or any other person could make :)

But i must admit that you are one of the less man who stand with his
name for what he says, which has a value in my point of view :)

Have a nice day,

Harald Frank

I wish no developer ever left this market.
If the remaining users start to attack the few developers we have then we are pretty much shooting in our own foot while the rest of the computer world is moving away.

Maybe a stupid question but: is PowerPci, OpenPci's new name ?

Thanks.

Thanks, Harald!

On another topic: How's those other drivers (AmiMixer,
Serial.device, AHI Drivers) coming along? I think
you said you were going to release them in May 2003?

I even registered on your website, but apart from
updates to powerpci.library, no other stuff have been
released.

I think it would be a nice gesture to all your customers
(like myself) if you could publically state that, either:

a) Yes, I'm going to release the drivers for you all
customers here and now so they can benefit at least
something from the updated stuff,

b) No, I'm never going to release the drivers -- stop
bugging me about it.

Thanks

Hello Anonymous,

yes it is sad that other stuff is not released yet
and because you ask i will answer your question.

Unfortunately 2 people where working on web system
to handle user downloads for registered customers,
but both of them have not finished any work. One of
them got now cool job after he was long time jobless
and so has no freetime anymore, and 2nd one has
found out about girls and other real cool stuff that
exists out there :)

So it does look like i have to learn myself php and
mysql programming to get the stuff done someday, but
this is only possible within my spare time from my
main business which pays my bills, food for dog and
other usefull things. So nothing can be done yet to
speed up things, which means, yes registered users
will be able to get the stuff, just not yet.

Best regards,

Harald Frank

Hello Neko,

>How much will you pay for that work to be done? :)

it is not about the money for these work, it is more about
that is has to be done here locally and that there is much
sensible customer data involved. We do handle such here
with something what is called in germany a "mini job" where
the worker get some fixed amount of money, and we have to
pay some fixed amount for tax and insurance.

So, as i said nothing can be done about this yet, and i
am sure that i do not hire some person for such work, witch
is far away and later on not responsible for his done work.

Best regards,

Harald Frank

Well, Frank did bring all the criticism/attacks upon himself. Nobody wants to see the last remaining developers ditch the Amiga, but that guy single handedly destroyed a popular Amiga product then went on a rampage against innocent people, epecially webmasters. Anyone can clearly understand why people are still pissed off at him.

say "pissing off" people, than i am fine with that. What is
about your contribution to these community? Done any usefull
or just doing cool things like missusing my companys logo as
an avatar for your pointless postings some time ago?

As long you just kickass others rights and workship with your
shoes, you do not deserve anything better than nothing.

Hi Harold

Is Amithlon still available for purchase? I would be interested in buying it, but if Bernie says it's being distributed illegally I wouldn't want to offend him seeing he created it. I have spoken to a few distributors of Amithlon an as far as their concerned as long as they are making money on it they think its ok? Which leaves me a bit confused.

Thanks.

If there has been trademark violations going on then please do take legal action against me. You are in your rights to sue me for any distress which the alleged avatar may have caused you, plus if proved you can also have me done for misusing trademarks if the alleged avatar has caused your company loss of income.

In defence though as in other areas of law, freedom of speech may be a defense to suit for violation of trademark, particularly when satire or parody is involved.

@Chris Perver

Bernd gets nothing from the sales of Amithlon.

Hello Mr. Gadd,

ok, now we all clearly knew what you commitment to the community is,
thanks alot for clarify this out to us.

Your comment: "Bernd gets nothing from the sales of Amithlon" is wrong!

Right is, Mr. Meyer has "self" choosen to "not" sent an invoice to his
distributor for the outstanding sum of his Amithlon licence fees! And
for Mr. Meyer, i only talk about Amithlon and nothing else that you do
extra want from others!

Do you know the difference between someone who yells about not getting
his money and someone who dont want to take his money? They do share that
they have no money in their pocket from sales... BUT... you know it eh?

Enough timewaste now..

So, Harald, when did you last get a sales report from H&P? And do you believe H&P have a license for the Kickstart they are distributing?BTW, when *are* you planning on providing those drivers you already got paid for? ISDN, MIDI, floppy, USB, that sort of stuff. You know, the stuff you "chose" to invoice H&P for, despite never delivering?Don't bother replying unless you are willing to answer both the first two questions.

Strangely enough, I just checked my email account (you know, the one I give with each and every one of my comments), and it seems you chose not to send me that message by email. Please enlighten me --- why do you think public statements (such as Harald's in this case, which directly and incorrectly referred to me) should be corrected in private (thus leaving their validity unquestioned in the public perception), while at the same time, criticisim of one's behaviour (which I suspect is of considerably less public interests), such as your comment, should be aired in public? And even if you can somehow justufy such preferences, can you explain why you chose to not make an email address available for me to address the issues you raised in private? For someone who preaches the benefits of private email, you seem confusingly unwilling to use, or facilitate the use of, that method of communication.

-sigh-

Some people really want to start a flame war, don't they? I mean, I hate what happened to Amithlon, and think that Harald probably holds most of the blame for what happened... but would I want him to leave, when he still releases updates for Amithlon? No! I'd be completely barmy, unless I didn't actually use Amithlon...

And you at least have to give Harald credit for not being the first person to bring-up the whole issue with Bernie. In fact, before that was mentioned, he was quite reserved, given some of the trollish comments made about him. (Yes, yes, I know there's been a lot noise involving him on another thread, but it'd be nice to avoid cross-contamination of threads, so that perhaps it can die off.)

Every single time Mr Frank sells Amithlon to a customer he is in fact stealing from Mr Meyer. I am a Amithlon user and i am glad of the updates but i will never condone the actions of a liar and a thief (most Amiga users will).

H&P dropped Amithlon, and I wasn't aware that Harald was selling Amithlon personally (although that would give a selfish explanation for why he is still providing updates). What web site is he selling Amithon from?

FWIW, I agree that Amithlon shouldn't be sold unless Bernie gets a cut, but I doubt current or future sales of Amithlon are likely to be great, so probably Bernie doesn't really care too much what Harald does now...

Oh, never mind, I found it - unfortunately :-(
http://www.vmc.de/amithlon/eng_ami_cost.html

150 Euros is stupidly expensive (especially when you could pirate it for free and steal from Harald as well;-)

With all Bernie's talk about totally expired H&P contracts (and non-existant contracts with Harald), perhaps he'll try to sell Umilator now? And yes Harald, everyone knows you think that would still be illegal.

[Oh dear, what was I saying earlier about thread cross-contamination? Sorry]
