I do not doubt it that this still could be great expansion for the Classic Amiga, but who is going to write drivers for all those features ? And I think that release of OS4 for the AmigaOne will mean more or less the end for the era of Classic Amiga. |

Also my thoughts. For a start it would be better to just make an Accelerator for the A1200 slot of A4000 slot. Less complex and PCI - USB, IDE etc. - could be added to a slot. |

Coldfire accelerator for AMIGA 1200 in development : Comment 5 of 14 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Sentenced on 13-Oct-2004 05:53 GMT | As one of the developers (there is 3 of them) I can add what project is still alive , but as all these hobby projects is suffering from lack of free time and moving slowly. Meantime we're on the move , layout is almost done (80%). There's one bad thing - we don't have any A1200 trapdoor slot connectors.
P.S. Maybe someone would like to have an interview from us ? ;) |

I hope shipping cost to Russia is not very expensive. I´m from Spain :)
Send me a email if you are interested. |

Posted by Vovanius on 13-Oct-2004 11:05 GMT | In reply to Comment 8 (TRAPOSOFT): As a developer:
It's need to TRAP some unimplemented instructions, like MULx <ea>,Dh:Dl... But I know how to do this :)
It's seems to be the time to write FAQ, but:
I developed only low speed embedded microprocessor systems prior to this project, so this is like an training... This is likely to be most cheap accelerator for an Amiga (about 100$ per board estimate). The most importrant thing, we will get is expirience. :) Our further plans are to develop PPC accelerators and motherboards. There's many Amiga users with 030 and without accelerator (at least in Russia), so it may be useful thing :) |
