You are not doing yourself a favour with arrogant replies ;) Now that you have brought additional attention to MorphOS: Obviously MorphOS was mentioned because it has a JIT that is known to be very good in terms of stability and performance and integration into the OS (on a MHz basis, it outperforms a PC with UAE JIT that is nominally three times faster). It would be interesting to get some benchmarks for the OS4 JIT. Beeing completed is one aspect of it, the other is: how good is it?

But enering Petunia site there is nothing actually than the Big banana.

Where are the link to sub-pages showing test comparisons?

Links which existed once upon (well... not so much time ago).

So, please, could/would you gently point the correct Petunia subpages links to me and to the other readers?

Are you joking?

They have A-Box integrated into the Morphos OS.

Why do they need for an emulator which works as standalone program?

However any solution chosen, '040 emulator embedded into the OS or as standalone
program has its merits and its imperfections.

A-Box into MOS being part of the OS it is well integrated and more preformant.

BUT you have to release another MOS version to upgrade it.

Petunia as standalone program is not integrated into the OS and it should have some imperfections in dialoguing with the OS.

BUT you could upgrade it easily and install new version whenever you want to.

Your reply was arrogant not because of choice of words but because this is an open forum and everybody is free to bring up what he or she finds interesting and you can not go tell other people what to discuss or to shut up, however politely you put it. Mentioning MorphOS JIT is perfectly valid, it's a competitive product and OS4 JIT will have to measure up against it (so far it didn't). No please shut up, thanks. Just kidding ;)

Not really. You know very well, in this forum mentioning MorphOS in OS4 topic or mentioning OS4 in a MorphOS topic will became huge flamewar and it is not about freedom of speech. Anyway, if your goal was to make another Mos vs OS4 f*ckfest, you are going into the best direction and excuse me to interrupt you in your trolling task.

The website for Petuina says It's Done. Does that mean it has been completed as a separate component or has the intergration into OS4 been completed as well (as announced on a German news site)? If not, how difficult is that part and what amount of time will it take? In other words, is it just peanuts from this point to a final release in/with OS4?
Dancing Banana at Petunia website : Comment 25 of 53ANN.lu
Posted by Anonymous on 16-Oct-2004 10:46 GMT
In reply to Comment 14 (Anonymous):
You can not really compare MorphOS 68k JIT which has to be integrated
in a PowerPC OS and the UAE JIT which "only" have to
emulate.

The MorphOS one (especially the intragration) is a bit more complex,
and a different job.
Of course, I respect the great work of the UAE authors.

The point is that many OS4 fans seems to be amaze by the OS whereas
MorphOs *public* is still a lot of more complete (but the net
stack)...

@Ikir: yeah, MorphOS was started before OS4, then HyperionOS should
never have existed. It would have been a lot of more profitable for
*EVERYONE* if Hyperion/Eyetech would have made logical choice and work
on MorphOS applications...
We would have won so much times/applications/users/features.
And, we would have had a small chance against big ones (like
Windows/Linux/MacOS X).

Now, MorphOS and OS4 will likely die sooner or later.
Especially the second one because it has no real hardware to work on
yet.

Bye

Because maybe it's the system they've chosen... it's not like the wheel hasn't being invented before... (btw you know that AmigaOS precedes MorphOS which incidentally is based on it!?) it's only natural they are happy as an Manchester United fan rejoices when his time wins and not when Arsenal... "infecting amiga threads" is a perfect phrase, any time there is a Amiga news, one or more trolls must "scatter poison" on it

If you are not interested on AmigaOne/OS4 don't write anithing about, and play with you Pegasos.

Again, "HyperionOS" is AMIGAOS, MorphOS is not AmigaOS, is a good clone of it but is not the official AMIGAOS, because Genesi does not pay any copyrights to use it's name, finally when i read a MOS thread (and most Amiga user) i/we don't scatter any FUD on it

So MOS user shut up, and follow the MOS thread
