I should add that gcc 2.95.3-4 should be able to compile PPC code aswell, however, i never tested this.

This sounds really good! GCC is such a pain in the ass to setup.. I think the only two ways people have ever managed to do it is by downloading the winuae hard drive file thats available with gcc already installed on it, or by using the golded installer. If I ever lose my WinUAE setup in future I will try out this installer instead. Thanks!

Hum, sometimes reading documentation help. That's how I got to install m78k gcc, back in the days, in about 5 minutes, after having downloaded all needed archives.

It still helps to have an automated installation that generates inlines, deals with such annoyances as the inability to unpack tar (with softlinks) under an emulator that does not support softlinks in its directory filesystem etc. Reading the documentation of gcc and fd2pragma alone takes thirty minutes. If an installer eliminates that, it seems to be a good idea.

It surely is a good idea, but I was contesting the argument by which installing gcc has always been an impossible task.

Guess some people just aren't as smart as you, eh? Give yourself a big pat on the back!
In the meantime, hopefully others will find this useful to start then off using GCC on the Amiga,

I don't think it takes any great intelligence to go trough a file named "INSTALL" and follow, step by step, all the instructions in there.

PPC code ? Is that WUP/PUP or both ?

Good work. BTW, is there any chance we might see a newer version of gcc, some day ?

In reply to Comment 9 (Fabio Alemagna):
Yeah, I guess. But there is considerable skill to writing easy to follow documentation, and writers of code do not often make the best of writers of instructions. What I'm saying is, let's not be overly negative here, if this helps people who had problems installing gcc before to get it installed, or even if it saves them a few hours of head-scratching, then it is a worthwhile effort and not to be disparaged.

Didn't I say that I think this installer is a good thing? As I've already stated, I was simply contesting the claim that installing gcc was impossible to manually setup.
