It has now been confirmed that Nintendo's next generation console will be called Nintendo Game Cube (Oh, how original! Hard to guess what shape it will be in...), already nicknamed N-Cube. It will sport a PPC-variant CPU from IBM, called Gekko. Graphics hardware is designed by ArtX and S3. Interestingly, former Amiga game developers Factor 5 are involved on the software side writing the sound system. The machine is due out conveniently in the first half of 2001.
