[News] AmigaOS 4.0 contract signed | ANN.lu |
Posted on 05-Nov-2001 07:19 GMT by Christian Kemp | 90 comments View flat View list |
I'm a bit surprised
this wasn't mentioned and discussed anywhere else:
Before anyone else asks , yes the contract was signed. Alan explained that the contract gave Eyetech, Hyperion, H+P etc the right to develop os4.0. Amiga Inc will then take control of the OS back for a 'consideration'. (Taken from the World of Amiga Souteast show thread.)

Amiga's Gary Peake on funding: What some who have never tried to get capital investment before seem to NOT understand is that a deal today could be broken up tomorrow when a sudden flux in the market tanks a stock, or some unexpected expenditure of the investor comes due, or the investor gets wind of some other deal just a dollar or two more favorable to him.

[News] ProStationAudio architecture for 2002 | ANN.lu |
Posted on 02-Nov-2001 12:36 GMT by Teemu I. Yliselä | 23 comments View flat View list |
From the Audiolabs homepage: "It's ready. The ProStationAudio architecture has been enhanced to make this non-linear editing software solution for AmigaOS even more powerful. And faster. The new version based on this design, ProStationAudio Titanium, is ready and will be on sale in a few days. While Amigas are wonderful systems, their main problem is lack of raw hardware horse-power: Titanium addresses this problem at design level, using optimizations independent on the
host CPU, so that 68K (060 recommeded), PPC, and emulated 68K hardware benefit." Read more about its new features here.

[Motd] Record month / moderators | ANN.lu |
Posted on 01-Nov-2001 15:08 GMT by Christian Kemp | 15 comments View flat View list |
Last month ANN.lu recorded the most pageviews in a month since it came to life almost five years ago, tracking 435,695 successful requests and about 207,000 pageviews for 30,904 distinct hosts, totalling over 3 GB of bandwidth (mod/gzip'ed on HTTP/1.1-compliant browsers). Thanks for visiting and contributing!
On this occasion, I'd also like to welcome back Teemu I. Yliselä as moderator. Once Christophe Decanini has settled down in his new house over in the US, I hope to have him back on the team, too.

From his homepage: "This release is based upon the FPSE 0.09 windows sources and has quite good compatibility. The dynarec is not finished yet, so do NOT try to enable it! Many thanks to Pete Bernert who allowed me to use his great PSEmuPro-compatible softgpu plugin for this Amiga release!"
