[News] New AntiGravity website | ANN.lu |
Posted on 27-Jul-2000 10:31 GMT by Teemu I. Yliselä | 19 comments View flat View list |
As many will have already noticed, AntiGravity have put up a new website which includes BoXeR info, the history of AntiGravity and a story of their attempted purchase of Amiga from Gateway last autumn. They also have news that they've hired the ex-Gateway-Amiga hardware engineer Joe Torre to the BoXeR development team. I guess they aren't that short on money after all...

This sounds like an interesting concept for people who want to access Workbench windows from the Shell. cli2win is
a little AREXX-Script for AmigaOS 3.5 that
opens a WB drawer from CLI.

[News] Met@box shareholder meeting | ANN.lu |
Posted on 26-Jul-2000 15:31 GMT by Christian Kemp | 7 comments View flat View list |
A German-language article provides some insight into Met@box's first shareholder meeting. At a shareholder meeting, they were criticized for providing a business report that wasn't understandable and contained not enough details. In the first hald of 2000, Met@box registered a loss of one Million Deutschmark. The revenue growth in 1999 and 2000 is apparently mainly caused by the purchase of Amstrad, who are now owned 100% by Met@box. Other complaints were issued because Met@box announced two large volume orders, but didn't give many details as to which large company initiated that deal. A second public offering of two million shares at the London stock exchange was also announced, but Stefan Domeyer didn't mention any dates.
I hope my quick German-English translation/summary with no dictionary at hand is understandable. I'm not sure if I always used the right technical expressions.

[Motd] AmigaOnline.net at AmiWest 2000... | ANN.lu |
Posted on 26-Jul-2000 15:10 GMT by Christian Kemp | 11 comments View flat View list |
Most of you may already be aware that I displayed AmigaOnline.net advertisements for some time, and that they never paid. As it turns out, neither personal emails nor open complaints here on ANN made them fulfill their part of our agreement, even though they finally (perhaps a month ago) promised to send me the cheque for all money owed. Now, as one of the last possibilities to get the 500$+ that they owe me, I'm asking all my visitors that are going to attend the AmiWest show to walk up to AmigaOnline's or AntiGravity's booth, for both companies share the same owner, and ask them when they intend to pay me. I feel a bit reluctant to ask this on here, and I'm sure that some people will criticize me for going public with such a request, but considering that ANN is a hobby project, 500$ are a lot of money, and I'd greatly appreciate being paid the money that AmigaOnline agreed to pay in the first place. Surely, for a company that intended to buy the Amiga for 5 million $, it shouldn't be that difficult to come up with about $500 for 40 days of extensive exposure on one of the largest Amiga sites... Don't you think?
Update 28/Jul/2000: I received this message from them today: We have mailed the check for the advertising on Ann.lu. Check [..] in the amount of $508.89.
