The media is being saturated with news reports on the latest "trojan" that spreads like crazy via some Windows-based mail software. Rather than repeating what has been said a thousand times elsewhere, I'll just comment on the fact that even Amigan professionals don't seem to be too secure (respectively, using the wrong software or not enough common sense)... I received a few copies of the message today. :)

Tony Pascoal noticed on amiga-news.de
that Be News has a poll that also features the Amiga. The question is The next
Operating System I would like to try out soon will be, and one of the possible answers is ElateOS/Amiga.
As of right now, 23.90% out of 1433 voters thought the Amiga was their number one choice. When I checked 200 voters earlier, we were still at place #4.

According to a poster in comp.sys.amiga.misc, the IWin website, and therefore the last evidence of this monster hoax/scam, has finally disappeared. I don't even remember their URL, but all the while I was kinda expecting that Iwin's end would be different than just a simple disappearance without further notice. Like a law suit against them, a message on their site stating they've moved to Sibiria to hibernate, a posting with explanations, anything.

Sam Dunham writes:
Here's a site that links to different ways to hack an "all-in-one" Mac Color Classic into a PPC machine. I figured that this may have some relevence to hacking Miggys on the cheap. I'm not that deep into hardware hacking, though so it may not be useful at all... :) Now how about hacking a PPC and a gfx card into an A1000 casing? If the page above can make it on Slashdot, why couldn't we? :)
