Trogladite Software writes:
AddAssign 2.0 is now available. The new version of the GUI for the Assign command not only allows you to create assigns (both temporarily and in your user-startup) but now you can remove them too. It's also got a reworked design, and uses Reqtools requesters rather than standard Workbench ones.

VersionWB 2.15 was released today. If you had trouble with
VersionWB 2.13 and up this should be fixed now. VersionWB is a replacement for the usual c:version tool. It finds just about any version string, and also uses xfdmaster.library to find version info in packed files.

[News] Amiga threatens Rainer Benda | ANN.lu |

Ralph Ewers wrote in to inform me of a message in the German AC-Forum. Aparently, Cloanto contacted Amiga Inc. on the subject of Rainer's homepage, where he stores, among others, support files that were originally part of the former ComBo (Commodore mailbox). While Rainer had/has, among others, copies of most Workbench disks on his site, many German Amiga users can certify that he did this purely to support the Amiga and provide backup copies of files everybody should have anyway... definately not your usual warez site, and therefore it shouldn't be treated as such, in my opinion.

This topic has recently been brought up in comp.sys.amiga.misc, but was also discussed elsewhere before. With what seems like more and more Aminet mirrors closing down or becoming very unreliable, it was suggested that Amiga should host a mirror on their site. Seeing how Aminet is a prime resource for past, present and future Amiga programs and files, I think it would be a sensible decision for Amiga to either host, or sponsor, a dedicated mirror on a reliable server with a good backbone. What do you think?

Here's an interesting quote by "Rux" that I found in the German Amiga Club forum. It should be common knowledge by now that TurboCalc is not being developed anymore. What I didn't know is that the programmer is now working for SAP, in California. And apparently, "he's earning as much in two months now than he did in the five years he worked on TurboCalc".

In a posting on the German Amiga-Club forum, G'o'tz Ohnesorge asked whether he should translate occurences of the word "you" on Amiga's web pages and the developer documents into the informal German "Du", or the more formal "Sie".
