[News] Greenboy on Phase5 bankruptcy | ANN.lu |
Posted on 09-Feb-2000 21:38 GMT by Christian Kemp | 2 comments View flat View list |
Greenboy writes on Moo Bunny:
phase 5's insolvency should have very little impact on Phoenix or QNX plans. As it was, they were not able to proceed with their announced Amiga-oriented intentions. But Neutrino's hardware needs are in no way dependent on phase 5. So the only effect will be within a small portion of the public which still believes phase 5 is the keystone, when in fact it is not. The interviews I've done attempt to clarify those misperceptions and are reaching a large print and web readership. Whether phase 5 will be reborn under a different guise remains to be seen.

According to this message on Moo Bunny, Phase5 haven't been replying to White Knight Technology's (dealer) enquiries for about three weeks now. Ian says they have loads of G4 orders, but that Phase5 neither replied to phone, fax, nor email enquiries.

The hot rumour at the moment is that Phase5 may be having some troubles. Some sources indicate that their website was just down for a while, other people say they are relocating and doing their inventory, while this thread on Moo Bunny mentions an "Phase5 is no more" message and later mentions Mick Tinker as having posted something about this subject on the Team Amiga mailing list, citing sources close to Phase5. Does anybody have any facts?

[News] Fleecy on AmigaOS interface | ANN.lu |
Posted on 09-Feb-2000 08:23 GMT by Christian Kemp | 11 comments View flat View list |
Jerry Ring wrote in c.s.a.m.: I've e-mailed fleecy recently and discussed the Amiga Interface. [..] fleecy said he didn't mind me sharing this....so These are his quotes about what the new AmigaOS can do for us
However, you will be pleased to know that the new Amiga will feature an abstraction layer that
allows for anyone to place any interface they like
over the process elements of the new Amiga, allowing
for infinite implementation and customisation. So you build it yourself.
