Posted on 01-Feb-2000 20:34 GMT by Christian Kemp | 0 comments |
Robert Simmonds writes:
As of this weekend, the popular ARCnet IRC channel #Ami3D will be holding weekly 1 hour Rendering competitions. All are welcome, using any 3D software and hardware they want (within reason!). The competition starts at 8pm GMT on #Ami3D, and even if you don't want to join in, you can have your say and help pick the winners!
See ARCnet Support Site for details of servers, and Amiga Showcase for details of the competitions!

[Motd] ANN v2 pre-release 3 | ANN.lu |
Posted on 01-Feb-2000 19:50 GMT by Christian Kemp | 6 comments View flat View list |
*Major sigh of relief* After over one hour of hectic coding, I managed to fix the bug that would attribute a wrong comment to an article. Between approximately 19:30 and 20:45, I had managed to completely mess up the basic code, so that ANN was more or less down for that time. This is pretty much the only changement for pre-release 3, except a few HTML glitches I corrected in my lunchbreak already.

There's at least one obvious bug in the current pre-release 2 (at least one comment does not match the correct article file) - but I can't fix it right now, since I will only be at home in three or four hours. Expect a pre-release 3 later tonight.

[Motd] News submissions needed! | ANN.lu |
Posted on 01-Feb-2000 16:00 GMT by Christian Kemp | 0 comments |
To make my testing easier, as well as having more content for you to read, I need you to send me as many news submissions as possible. In ANN v2, I will no longer just focus on news items, but will also try to report extensively on new Amiga-related websites, as well as availability notes of new Amiga software. No matter whether you're a programmer, a software company or an indidivual, I want to hear your news! submit@ann.lu.

[News] BoXer on the assembly lines? | ANN.lu |
Posted on 01-Feb-2000 09:00 GMT by Christian Kemp | 22 comments View flat View list |
Here's one more thing I read on Slashdot:
An "Anonymous Coward" writes in this article:
the new Amiga BoXeR motherboard with redesigned AA+
chipset-on-one-chip [..] is finally actually on the assembly
lines now. Take this with your usual grain of
salt, ie. it's an unconfirmed anonymous rumour.

In case you didn't notice, Slashdot
had a (pretty late) news item
on the release of DirOpus 4.12 under the GPL license. Within two days,
more than 150 comments were added.

[Motd] ANN v2 pre-release 2 | ANN.lu |
Posted on 31-Jan-2000 22:46 GMT by Christian Kemp | 6 comments View flat View list |
Pre-release 2 just includes a quick fix to make viewing of comments possible in v2 (adding already worked). The rest of the comments script was not changed, so ignore most links in there. On an unrelated subject, the old archives can be accessed here, although the layout is at least two generations behind. You can currently not post any news items, if you want something to appear here, please mail it to me with as many details as possible.
