I have an AmigaOne XE G4. It cost me a lot of money. It's fairly new and covered by warranty. How will Eyetech compensate me for it's 'issues'/design flaws? Will they

a) Offer me a full refund or a new WORKING motherboard as replacement for free? Since it looks like it's a design flaw with the A1 XE motherboard I would GLADLY accept returning my A1 XE and get a motherboard with new design, like Micro A1 with raiser card instead.
b) Give me for free any and all required additional hardware required to get the AmigaOne product fully working, like UDMA IDE on a PCI card? Second best option but I would still know that my expensive hardware is a bit 'crippled' (perhaps a too strong word?) beneath it and I would still worry about more undiscovered issues.
c) Offer me to send in the motherboard for free for them to "patch"? This would not be pleasant since I would be without my AmigaOne for the time this takes
d) Simply sit silent and wait until the warranty expires before acknowledging the problems? NOT acceptable! :-/

Before reaching comment #150 in an earlier debate, I suggested a "wild idea": Who on each side is prepared to bury the past, treat the other side(s) with respect and DEBATE instead of ARGUE? One golden rule... whoever signs up should try and remeber the names of the others doing the same and treat them with the respect which they would like to be shown to themselves. Anyone against it should then be ignored by the group in order to avoid flamefests. Here is the reasoning behind the idea:

After having a look on titan's website it seems that ther's only german and english version of papyrus Office... so could you explain that? (published near a year ago) http://www.morphzone.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=239 It seems quite logical no french people answered to your call to translation...

Whatever happened to the promised support for PowerUp? While people are discussing the meaning of "promise" and "support" I want to ask what the final outcome of MorphOS for PowerUP machines is. web archive (20030602171643) of www.morphos.net/support.php3. Was it ever promised? Not? Versions? Support? When? The mention of CSPPC and BlizzPPC was there for more than 3 years before it vanished when morphos.de/morphos.net became ..uhm.. genesized. :)

For some time now, rumours that the Pegasos is sold at a cheaper price than production cost have been frequent in some circles. Recently, these claims were brought out into the open and could quickly be shown to be based upon incorrect assumptions about the Pegasos hardware. Read More

With this mail I want to thank everyone (Eyetech, Hyperion, AmigaOS developer team and all the volunteers) involved into the AmigaOne and OS4 for keeping up the good old Amiga spirit and showing us the future for Amiga. Big thanks to all of you who you spent all the years onto the Amiga and finally found a new real path for the Amiga. For me as user AmigaOne and OS4 is everything that I want to see a modern Amiga should be. Quite modern and affordable Hardware, a nice clean and fast Operating System and all the developers and 3rd party people heavily supporting it. Without you the Amiga would still be a dead thing but with all you people we are happy to look forward into a nice future. Thanks again.

The first quarter of the year has now passed. Some people expected it as a "christmas gift" for christmas 2003, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Then some people hoped that it would only be slightly delayed and that it would be released some week or so after new years eve. Unfortunately, that didn't happen either. I guess we all hoped that it would still be released "early 2004" though.

I've been a registered AmigaDE developer for years, and now Amiga Inc drop this bomb on us? They've been _promising_ us that our developement efforts would be put forth in AmigaOS! they've been promising us this for years! There was 3000 of us at one point, and you've just alienated ALL of us! We've worked for NOTHING. LIARS! You've screwed us ALL over. Again!!

Where's KMOS? How come they arn't coming forward and speaking to us? It's been a year and they've said nothing. Why is Amiga Inc doing all the talking like "KMOS will honor all contracts" for them, why doesn't KMOS say this themselves? it doesn't matter what Amiga Inc say, as they don't own the OS anymore, I want to hear from the horses mouth!

I'm pissed. I don't know how else to say it. I willingly participated in the "I Am Amiga" club for the sole purpose of helping Amiga to further AmigaOS, and now I find out that they didn't even OWN AmigaOS when I sent them my money! What right did they have in taking my money under this false pretense? I will never trust anyone in this community again with my money, everyone has turned out to be nothing but liars.

Today a so-called Amiga site which was supposed to allow freedom of speech has now become a exposed heavily censored website, webmasters acting like children insulting members of the site just because they stand up and say what they think.

There are a group of people, at Amiga Inc, who have decided that their personal reasons are more important than the interests of the company, employees, investors, the customers, and even potential customers, and have ceased any and all effort to involve themselves in anything at all that doesn't directly relate to these personal reasons, even if it means earning an income against it's current mountain of debts. Amiga is being held hostage, and someone's looking to do something about it.

As the Windows platform is getting more and more bloated, infected with viruses, spy wares, ridiculous EULA’s and other unpleasant things, more and more people are looking for alternatives. And not only people, even large organizations and governments are searching for new solutions to meet their computing needs. This has made many people in the alternative computing market full of hope for a broad future acceptance of their favourite OS. Linux currently has a major momentum in this field (and not only in the server market), much thanks to its buzz word name. But other not-so-difficult-to-understand OS’s might as well be winning from this. What is stopping them? What is needed to make a former niche OS acceptable as a desktop replacement for Windows?

Again from The Register, Sendo's unveiled the Symbian-based Sendo X. Looks better than the ill-fated Z100. No word on partnerships of interest, but Symbian comes with its own Java environment.

Reading the recent news about the auction and stuff I wonder what the new address of Amiga Inc and the new phone numbers are? Seeing that they were locked out of their office and "Amiga Inc is sold" (according to auction site) now, was there ever a new office and new phone numbers? Is there a reason to hide this information? Or were they just unreachable in consequence of the lockout. Seeing that a Nortel phone router is also auctioned, this seems more likely.

I have previously asked that moderators here actually signify threads they close/wipe out. I am asking AGAIN. If you run a website with an unmoderated /rant area, even if you don't like the content, or it breaks the rules, PLEASE at least have the courtesy to show the thread as closed/removed. Several such threads have just disappeared. And one comment within such a thread does not signify that the thread may not have content worth a read. AdmV

Has anybody received his coupon yet? I'm still waiting for it (and my T-Shirt, too!!!) and now there is not even an address at Amiga Inc. that I could send my complaint to. Also my emails are left unanswered. Isn't their behaviour criminal? I mean: I have ordered a product and not received it yet - more than a year after placing my order .. anybody here can evaluate the chances of a law suit against them?

I also want to apologize to our competing companies that we have accused for crimes in public without being able to back those accusations up with either proof or legal action. Hello guys, I have been an Amiga user since 1989 and I have joined the Amiga Club (end of July) to support their initiative. And guess what? Thus far I haven't receive neither the discount coupon nor the t-shirt... It is just me or others in the Amiga community are having this similar problem??? I e-mailed Amiga, but no response thus far...

The show is over, but the work continues, which proves the success of the event. The fare team of individual Computers says thank you to all visitors and exhibitors who made the last weekend so successful.
Many pictures have already been published on the Amiga news sites, a complete coverage of the fare will be published in the next issue of the German Amiga-Magazin.
Our Congratulations go to bplan GmbH and Chris Hodges, who recieved the Amiga Award 2002 for their Pegasos mainboard, and the Poseidon USB stack, respectively.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone again at the next event of this kind!

I'd wanted to introduce these with a little more commentary, but given the sheer quantity of "April good?" "April bad?" / "AmigaOne good?" "AmigaOne bad?" posts, these might be welcome distractions, and suitable for parties on either side of the fence.
