Amiga had its golden age in the late 80's to early 90's. There are some interesting sales figures in a thread on Amiga.org.
Someone pointed out to this page giving the Personal Computer market share from 1975 to 2002 (Including the Amiga, Atari, Commodore, Apple II).
There is also this page giving recent figures on google usage by platfom (Unfortunately Amiga is in the "other" category).

I am currently being threatened by my former employer (they are "compelled [to] take action against [me]") for the way I am running ANN, and how this allegedly violates my employment contract with them ("interfere _in any manner_ with any business relationship between the Company and any of its customers or business partners"). This might entail drastic changes to the relative freedom of speech ANN has always allowed its visitors, or ANN might close down altogether. Updated 10:00 CET.

Posted on 03-Apr-2004 21:23 GMT by tokai | 4 comments View flat View list |
snes9xstarter is a Open Source GUI (screenshot) for the
great MorphOS port of SNES9x by Fab. Version 2.0 was written from
scratch and the main features are:
- uses Magic User Interface
- ROM image QuickSelector
- optimal settings are preconfigured
- supports all important SNES9x features/ settings [1]
- it's small: just 20.000 bytes (hey, it's an ELF binary ;-)
- comes already with a nice PNG icon
- and has an AmigaGuide documentation
Download the archive from the snes9xstarter site!
[1] also supports 'forwarding' of advanced SNES9x commandline settings, so practical _all_ SNES9x features are supported.

In case someone is interested in a bunch of AROS to MorphOS compiles then get a look at this LHA archive (1.2mb). It includes various AROS demos, games, utilities, sources and makefiles. Also included is that beautiful AROS screenblanker that I ported over from AROS to MorphOS in case someone likes it (I heard positive feedback from people already). Furthermore a new version of HTML Tidy got included (including MorphOS system tag, sources and makefile). This archive is subject to be updated every now and then. I am aware that some of the demos got ported before.

The first quarter of the year has now passed. Some people expected it
as a "christmas gift" for christmas 2003, but unfortunately that
didn't happen. Then some people hoped that it would only be slightly
delayed and that it would be released some week or so after new years
eve. Unfortunately, that didn't happen either. I guess we all hoped
that it would still be released "early 2004" though.

[Files] VIM 6.2.421 (MorphOS) released | ANN.lu |
Posted on 31-Mar-2004 12:12 GMT by oGALAXYo | 34 comments View flat View list |
This version of VIM adds a bunch of new overall patches provided by Bram Moolenar the author and maintainer of VIM as well contains a bunch of improvements of my own patches for MorphOS (a lot of simplifications this time).
The simplifications are:
- Proper tmpname handling through libnix. Instead of hacking in some own routines I now defined -DUSE_TMPNAM. Libnix understands this function which I wasn't aware of previously.
- The MorphOS libnix version doesn't have fdtofh and previous versions of my patches simply ignored calling this by simply if def'ing that stuff out. The missing fdtofh function has been tweaked in the VIM code now (it was just 3 lines anyways).
- The overall MorphOS patch is reduced to the necessary things only. Which is the Makefile, Shell syntaxcolor output and missing fdtofh routine. Everything else stays as the Amiga version of VIM.
Of course you can find VIM on my Homepage. VIM for MorphOS is also listed on the official VIM Homepage.
greetings,
oGALAXYo
