In a bit of a shock announcement, Microsoft and the supposed Amiga Inc-partner Corel have entered a strategic partnership targetting Microsoft's new .Net platform. Microsoft has also bought $135 million worth of Corel stocks, which seems to be effectively saving Corel from imminent bankruptcy. The partnership will see Corel products ported to the .Net platform. According to Elbox, the Mediator busboard should be available for purchase from the Power Computing stand at the Pianeta Amiga show in Italy this weekend. The board is demonstrated at the show with a Voodoo3 PCI graphics card. Elbox also have this page up.

Haage & Partner announce that they've obtained the publishing rights to the fax program STFax and the copy and publishing rights to the TCP/IP stack Genesis from Active Technologies. Development of these products will continue. Here's the press release.

While watching the olympics on TV, I zapped to German news channel n-tv, who reported that Metabox's shares went down by about 50% today. Some quick research indicates that they are at €6,95 right now, after a record high of €45,80 earlier this year. Here's a link to a German article, via Yahoo.

The first public release of QNX Real-Time Platform is available now. Get it here. The exe file (for installation from Windows) is 24MB, and the CD ISO image weighs in at 91MB and includes some add-on software.
