I'm pissed. I don't know how else to say it. I willingly participated in the "I Am Amiga" club for the sole purpose of helping Amiga to further AmigaOS, and now I find out that they didn't even OWN AmigaOS when I sent them my money! What right did they have in taking my money under this false pretense? I will never trust anyone in this community again with my money, everyone has turned out to be nothing but liars.

Posted by Seehund on 17-Mar-2004 07:54 GMT | In reply to Comment 12 (Graham_nli): I'm sure that most people are happy that Amiga Inc. and their mixed up policies regarding everything are now out of the picture.
Are they? We don't know what/who KMOS are (or even IF and WHY they are).
KMOS doesn't necessarily have to be much more than an AInc afterthought, a list of names (well, one name so far) invented to separate assets from AInc and keep creditors from getting what they're owed when it's time to jump ship and file for bankruptcy.
It's too early to tell.
As long as KMOS don't turn around and simply kill the AmigaOS stuff (unlikely, as people such as Hyperion appear to be very happy with this new deal) anyway.
There was ominous sounding stuff about a contract involving Eyetech. If that means that the current compulsory "Amiga hardware" licensing/bundling idiocy is still in place, then AmigaOS has already been killed. Just like before this last weekend. But we still don't know what that contract says.
Hyperion "appearing happy" means nothing. They have "appeared happy" no matter what twists and turns AInc have done during their years at the helm. (Or "during their years of lying drunk on the deck somewhere near the helm they bought".) That's nothing specific for Hyperion, if you're unhappy in business you don't necessarily let the world know this, especially not on a corporate fansite (I haven't seen them comment on a real site yet). |
