I'm pissed. I don't know how else to say it. I willingly participated in the "I Am Amiga" club for the sole purpose of helping Amiga to further AmigaOS, and now I find out that they didn't even OWN AmigaOS when I sent them my money! What right did they have in taking my money under this false pretense? I will never trust anyone in this community again with my money, everyone has turned out to be nothing but liars.

The first version of AmigaOS was released in 1985, I seriously doubt they started working on the AmigaOS in 1965. The latest release of AmigaOS was AmigaOS3.9 and it was released in 1999, which means that they would have started working on it in 1979, 6 years before they released the first version of AmigaOS. I'm sorry, but it simply doesn't add up no matter how you look at it.
A better comparison would be between AROS and AmigaOS3.1 since this is what AROS was originally set out to achieve compatibility with. AmigaOS3.1 was released in 1994. Counting from the first AmigaOS release (1985), it took Commodore 9 years to complete AmigaOS3.1. The AROS project was started in 1995, which is 9 years ago, but has still not achieved a complete workbench clone, AFAIK. |
