This is good news. I am looking forward to playing it when my Pegasos arrives.

Is there any chance that there will be a version for AmigaOS (WarpOS or OS4.0) as well? It seems a shame that so many people will miss out on this great game because they don't have MorphOS.

In reply to Comment 1 (Lando):
not particularly good for the developers either, shutting out a 'big' market.
Amiga in itself is pretty tiny.. just delivering for a subdivision seems.. not good if you want to make a profit, and ensure that there will be more games.. imho.

Why "shutting out"? They just can't develop for an OS that's just not ready yet.

First time I read it, I read it as this was going to be a MOS-only game, but I realize now that they can just aswell be talking about the distribution of the MOS-version of the game. It's a little hazy, atleast to me.

That's why I said "shutting out".

P96 (OS4) has more and different bugs than CGX(MOS).

Since my dealer doesn't know yet - will the game be available as usual through the traditional Amiga-dealers (what I would prefer) or will you use another way of distribution?

mmmmh what where we talking about ?

I think we were talkinh about problems that could arise with a WOS-version,
and diffences between CGX and P96 are among those.

There are bugs in the CGX-emu shipped with latest P96 (from Amithlon) and those
have been there for years, unlikely that they will suddenly disappear just
because of the No4.

And of what use would such a version be ?
Unusable on a real WOS, and by the time OS4 actually appears they could just
make a direct version for it (I'll bet that that would be easier than for WOS).

Would it be possible to do an AmigaOS version? If so then I would love to purchase the game.

MOS will no doubt be just has bad.

AmigaOS is all except stable.
It can be OK with a chosen subset of applications but I would recommend saving your files you are working on very often when using other applications at the same time.

MorphOS has to sort these bad behaving applications too. OS4 will go the same way.

Soon or later the drivers may be moved from the ABOX to the QBOX and then morphos would not be bring down anymore by bad behaving applications. This is one of the major advantages of the sandbox approach. The QBOX has memory protection and could kill the ABOX and regenerate a new one if it ever crash.

Unless this is a deal sponsored by Genesi. That's what I would do if I was either Genesi or Amiga Inc: sign exclusive deals with developers, to dry up support for the other platform.

WB compatability (easily obtainable by reading docs).

Did this happen in Aachen? In the CES? It didn't. CGXMode crashed cause
"someone" accidently installed 2 versions of the same gfx driver, messing up
CGX.

catogen, about the worst i could say about morphos is that it inherits the instability of the amiga apps it runs. as a newbie user i opened lots of apps at CES and ran many windows and processes concurrently. MorphOS seemed to do as well as my amigas: that is to say if the apps were stable apps it stayed up. actually i never could crash ambient or the OS itself, and the apps that were part of the bundle ran well.

unfortunately, i could use voyager only to browse through offline sites as many of the pavilions did not have internet connections available. but it didn't seem to resemble the mess comments here on ANN had led me to believe. I was rather shocked it didn't have CSS yet, though.

I don't see why the pissing and moaning about companies that make announcements of doing MorphOS titles (as if it isn't their right anyway). so far, it is no big deal to release the same titles for AOS4 - when making announcements of this becomes realistic I bet you will see some. From what I heard at CES it is, so far, *trivial* to support both platforms, due to API commonality.
