In a posting in the unmoderated section here on ANN, Kevin Orme asked whether AmigaCentral.com was still around. In a comment posted as reply, Chris Korhonen wrote: Basically, we decided it was no longer viable to continue the site. From our point of view the Amiga is dead, very little software and support. And Amiga's current plans may sound nice but they will either: a) Never Appear b) Apear, but, will not be anything like the amiga you know and love. Which will leave amiga owners with some non standard hardware which is of limited use. It was good whil it lasted but its time to call it a day.

Yeah, well- all of you...
The Boxer was supposed to come out about six times- The A4000's were supposed to be put back in production from Quikpak-
The Amiga was supposed to be based on QNX, no LINUX, no JAVA VM...
Yeah, it sounds nice, but you can't live off of a pretend machine on the internet. The fact remains that it isn't in front of my face
and it doesn't do me much good. These people are right. VERY factual, regardless of how great Amiga DE is.
The business owners that sell Amiga products can't make money on promises and I can't do video/3D manipulation on a promise either.
I need a product in front of me. All of you are as hopeful as myself with the final release of an Amiga, but I've heard this crap before.
No, OS or machine, then no interest. I'm here on an IBM/Comp machine with my Amiga 3000/040 next to it, sort of collecting dust because there really
isn't anything useful on it, I won't upgrade it because buying a Zorro card of any sort (modem, graphics accelerator, sound card, etc...) costs more to
buy for Amigas than an entire Wintel system. How is it that the MAC CPU upgrades, and the new Amiga DE CPU cards actually cost less as G3/4's when the
crap 233 MHz PPC (604e) upgrades cost about a grand or more???
Look, alot of this is crap. To come out with a machine with specs that match what's on the market already as industry standard garbage is no great
accomplishment. It's already there! DELL could get it for you over the phone now!
Honestly, folks, I'm looking forward to the new Amiga DE as an OS or hosted OS- Don't get too hyped up on the computer.
