Posted by acg on 26-Jun-2002 02:00 GMT | ....up to 203....
As an aside, it was reported that Msoft will loose close to
900 million to up to about 3 billion on Xbox before it starts
(if ever) making money...it's going for an installed base first..
So think about it, lots of people are spending money on a device
that may not every be upgraded, and will be certainly outmoded
by next year...but the parent company can "afford" it....
So please don't complain if little Amiga, Inc. has to have
assurances that it can sell it product before it allows
production, it simply cannot afford to lose money...
also, for all of those who think that Amiga has to actually
manufacture the product, remember that the Xbox isn't made
in Redmond, Washington....come to think about it, isn't
the Pegasos board made by DCE? ( I don't want to start at
MorphOs vs. Amiga OS flame war). So contracting out with
a manufacturer is probably the more prevalent business plan
out there.....weren't Amigas being built in the Phillipines??? |
