16-Sep-2002: Thendic France sponsors German soccer team
Future Champions!
The MorphOS Team is proud to announce that it will sponsor a soccer team of 11 and 12 years old boys in Mönchengladbach, Germany. You can see the team at

In a few years, the boys, MorphOS, the Pegasos and the eclipsis will find themselves in the Bundesliga!
You can find a *VERY* early design for their T-Shirts,
here.
Of course, the boys will be present on 8 December at the Aachen show for autographs and pictures with the rest of the bplan/Thendic/MorphOS team.

I think Rose refers to the fact that Commodore took an expensive sponsorhip that had no real immediate benefits to the company, quite the opposite. I remember at the time many thought that was yet another bad marketing move (same as when they sponsored the America's Cup). Commodore had stopped making PC's and they were sponsoring their own name when they should have used the name Amiga.

Probably so. Personally I'm happy if they help 12 y/o kids, but what makes me wonder is why the need to announce that? Seriuously, who cares? If they were sponsoring an internationally (or even nationally) know team I would understand that, but little kids...? Seems more like a (ineffective) marketing move than a real interest in helping those kids. |
