Amigart has put online an excerpt from a log of the ExecSG Kernel booting on both the AmigaOne G3 and G4.
Just click here to take a look at it.
Amigart has got a snapshot of the output log during the boot on a monitor, too.

OS4 kernel boot logs : Comment 59 of 88 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anonymous on 06-Nov-2002 08:38 GMT | In reply to Comment 46 (DaveW): >Yeah but you and a few others did come onto here with the specific purpose
>in mind of doing Thendic/BPlans work for them and spread a little Fear,
>Uncertainty and Doubt about AmigaOS4, evidenced by the content that you
>posted.
Comment 44 was my first and only post in this thread prior to this one. I accept that my personal decision to remain anonymous may have added to the confusion, so no problem. But please know this.
My point? Please be careful when making accusations. I have no agenda or interest in spreading FUD or anything false for that matter. I was CORRECTING Henning when he was doing so.
>In order to attract people to your "community" of MorphOS users you are
>better of appearing as helpful and constructive as possible at all times.
Also know that I am not in any MorphOS community, I do not run or own MorphOS or have used it if you do not count trying at a show for two or so minutes. I don't even intend to run MorphOS any time in the future.
But what I don't appreciate is misinformation spread about a product people have worked so hard on. I don't for OS4 either. I don't claim to be able to rebutt all comments that are made, but the one Henning made was simply so wrong in my opinion it warranted response.
And Henning:
>When Anonymous (217.82.98.214) wrote that MorphOS is out there, then it
>sounds like it's for sale --> Finished ... But it is not ready.
Yes, MorphOS is out there since it IS for sale. For those who wish to beta test it. Saying it isn't out there is an outright lie, I'm sorry.
>Just like AmigaOS.
No, not just like AmigaOS. You can not buy it, download it or even fully use it (well, Hyperion may have integrated it in their lab by now but not much outside). And a MorphOS early version has also been available for a long time now for download, which has also attracted some developers.
Please re-read the original post. It stated that MorphOS felt more interesting to that particular chap since it is available and because it is and has been available for quite some time now (for download over a year, for sale first under NDA a few months and now without NDA) it has attracted more software than AmigaOS 4 for which little if any exists since it is NOT available.
That is no FUD. That is a fact. If you don't like the fact that MorphOS has more software than OS4 (by that I mean more native software) then that's just too bad. But that is usually the way it goes when the other is available and has been for a while, and the other is not.
Going on and on about MorphOS not being finished does nothing to change the fact that it is and has been far more accessible and available, and certainly out there, than AmigaOS 4 which is still under crucial development and not ready for such public outing.
Neither are ready, that I do grant you, but given the fact that I can go and buy MorphOS (without an NDA no less) and I can't do the same for OS4 (with or without an NDA) really makes my point.
And that is my only point. The comment that MorphOS "is not out there" was false. It is wrong. I don't mean any disrespect towards Hyperion and I appreciate their work as much as the next person, but please, you are doing nobody any good by twisting words to make the reality into something other than it is. |
