Boy! These issues are getting better and better. The layout and articles are beging to rival professional mags and websites. My only grip is that it takes a long time between issues and the fact that the articals are a little on the short side. However I am happy with what I have read so far and as long as they are working on the new Os/DE "Amiga World" is a secondary thing. I really enjoyed the artical on Mesa 3d. I think Amiga has a winner there ( But I would also like to see Renderware incorporated as well).

At last, now it's not needed to load the pages in something like Opera and use 300% to be able to read the text, but not sure if this applys to all readers.
I see that Amiga Inc don't support the metric system, in the Amiga World competiton they tell the size of the "nameplate" in pixels (thats good) and in inches (why in the hell not drop this or give it in cm too?).
The "first" page had all to much graphics to load, which made that page all to slow to load, and make those boings to become red when pointed at was quite horrible IMHO, why not let the red color become lighter?
Otherwise in IMHO it was a quite ok to read.

I'm thoroughly enjoying every issue of Amiga World.
I agree with the comment about the blushing boing balls, though.
A simple reversal of the red and white squares with an added glow
around the whole ball ala "glow icons" would look much better.
Or perhaps make boings commence spinning when the pointer hovers over them.
That would be rather cool.
Anyway, I like the mag a lot.

www.amiga.com not responding. Looks like someone whacked the DNS listing.

It's NOT dead. I was just on it, and personally I think the gfx
look great. Although, the red on the boing balls could be done
a bit differently. Perhaps as someone else suggested maybe spinning
or taking on the Glow Icon look.

In reply to Comment 7 (Anonymous):
What is the IP-address (maybe I could use it if DNS-lookup is the problem). Or if anyone who can access could publish it on some other webserver... ;-)

I haven't contributed to Amiga World myself but thanx for the kind words. There are links you can send comments to at Amiga Inc about the amiga.com site.
For problems with the site itself:
webmaster@amiga.com
For Amiga World content:
amigaworld@amiga.com
Coz
Opinions expressed here are my own and not those of my employer, Amiga Inc

Doh! Apdf reads encrypted PDF's. Download the viewer for your processor
from their site, or from Aminet. Apdf has had a decrypting routine for
quite some time! DOH! :)

Hi,
Well, as somebody who DOES contribute to Amiga World (I edit the Resources section) I want to say thank you on behalf of the whole "team" that puts AW together. It's so very gratifying to see people enjoying and appreciating the fruits of our labor!
Best wishes,
Steve

The ReadME in Apdf tells you WHERE to get the decryption modules! :)
Sometimes, it pays to read those damn ReadMe's! :0

Hi all,
Just wanted to say thanks for all the positive feedback on AW3. I just want you to know that we are listening to your feedback, and I personally will make every effort to ensure that AW is compatible to all readers. Your comments on the "glowing" boing ball rollovers will be taken into account for the next issue. Also, my apologies for not listing the Nameplate size in metric. If anyone has the coversion from inches to metric handy, please send it my way.
Thanks for your support and keep the comments coming!
Cheers,
Fletcher Haug

There is a site listed in on the Amiga World site at http://www.aakt.de/ which has an ongoing series by a former employee of Commodore and Escom.
This series has been going on for about a year.
It is an excellent look into the absurdities and bad business practices of the Amiga owners.
