I phoned with Juergen Haage and can tell you that this rumour - or lie - is total nonsense. I just phoned with Juergen Haage and can tell you that he never did tell something like claimed in the post from "4play". H&P is *not* leaving the Amiga marketplace !!! And OS 4.0 is in no way doomed !!! And "Descent Freespace: The Great War" is even now available for Preorder at H&P !!! This "rumour" - more properly one should not call it a rumour, but a "lie" - was probably started by someone who wanted to damage H&P or Amiga. I suggest that the earlier post by "4play" gets removed. Steffen Haeuser Hyperion Entertainment

MAybe you're reffering to some braindead person I recently met on amiga-news.de? First he called himself Anon but after a few postings he renamed himself Anti-Amifan :)
This is the most blind MorphOS "fundamentalist" i've ever seen

Oh by the way, wans't amiga.org not blamed for not posting MorphOS related news? So searching in that direction isn't a bad move afteral

If amiga.org censors MorphOS news it's their loss. Why should I bother
reading a news source like that? Especially when there are more
impartial ones around.
I mean, MorphOS may or may not be "Amiga". But it does run Amiga
software on new hardware, which is more than most "Amiga" stuff does.
I didn't hear anyone complain about Amithlon news being covered.
Hey, I even didn't hear that many complaints about UAE coverage,
though I've seen (and written) some. Clearly the problem some people
have about MorphOS is more than just being "of insufficient relation
to Amiga".

I’m a long time Amiga user, and a long time Amiga.org user to. An Amiga 1000 was one of my first computers. I am shocked to see that Amiga.org was hacked, by people who called them self’s hackers. The people who built the First Amigas where true hackers. The people that downed Amiga.org where stupid kids with nothing better to do, then destroy someone’s hard work. Personally I think these people should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, and from what I understand now, they would be treated at terrorists.
As for Amiga.org I miss it, it’s one of the best places to find Amiga News, as well as community chat. I say bring it back, even with the old back up, but find people that are willing to contribute to its remaking and security. I’d be willing to help with security, as would a lot of others in the Amiga community I’m sure. The Amiga is still one of the best computers on the face of the planet.
Have fun!

Just kinda stumbled upon this while doing my usual wonder around the web sorta thing. Just wanna say, please don`t give up with amiga.org, despite the fact I`m not into the Amiga "scene" much anymore, it would be very sad to see something thats been around as long as that has just dissappear.
On a slightly different note, recognise the names of a few of the peeps on here - cool to see ya still around, anyone that may remember me, greets to you.
Dave (aka Amiga Nutta), which`ll maybe - one day, get updated for one last time..

I don't know about lawn darts, but I have a real board available... I guess we could throw them at him. I also have a spray gun I use for spreading weed killer... perhaps we could all make a really strong caustic soda solution and take turns in squirting the wanker. Anyone else got any ideas? ;)

Me and some friends of mine all use or
at least used to use Amiga's and we
all know how essential Amiga.org was
to Amiga news.
We all also happen to be intersted to
tenderise the BUTT HEAD who did this
so that just the fire ants walking on
him hurts.
The local Kung-Fu club & the Medieval
Weapons club also volunteered thier
servises!!
There are misty eyed old Amiga users
every where!!

Wayne, sorry to hear about the org.
hopfully you have the interface still intact, if you were to put the site back up without the data im sure we would get by without the history.
Have you thought of distributing the functionality of the amiga.org web site around. I have built up a fairly secure server myself which will be going online hopefully within a week and would be glad to take over the polls plus i already have writtena chat section for live html chatting(i might try to make it less bandwidth soon). I havent done any forum or news functionality yet so i cant host it all but would be glad to do what i can...

Maybe we could have the event webcasted, for all us European users who cant make the trip. I can get free/very cheap Budweiser, Holstein, and Jack Daniels!
Seriously, Wayne, please dont get disheartend by this fool. Amiga finally seem to making a comeback, and it would be a shame if Amiga.Org wasnt around to cover this. After all, Amiga's comback is what you, and we (the rest of the Amiga community) have been waiting many years for.
My friend, you have to see it through, reporting the news as you have done so brilliantly before. As one person posted earlier, you are the Petro of the Web!
You've been here this long, it would be a shame that Amiga.Org's demise would be as a result of some @;[! , and not market forces. Furthermore, where else can I post drunken, meandering, rambling, punctuation less gobbledegook and be tolerated!
In some respect, this fool might have done you a favour. In making us lot go without a Amiga.Org, it has made us relise how much we actually value it. Its a case of "you dont know what you've got, - till its gone". Where do I send my money?
I have an T1 connection, straight into my dorm. Its hooked up to the collage server, which also serves North Wales. Anyway, if I get permission, I'm allowed to set up a file server, netware thingy etc.. Maybe you could use this space for backups?
What should I learn? I'm really good with Flash :) - not that its of use, but it might be.
Cheers
BobsonSirJonny

If it was pay per view he could use a decent database like DB2 and some secure means of supporting live page updates.

Wayne !
Amiga.org is one of the staples of my day - nillus illegitimate carborundum - Dont Let The B******s grind ya down !
dont worry about the data, get the site up, we will re-register if necessary.
If I find out who did this, I 'll teach them about the 2-footed tackle (football), and what happens in Rucks and Mauls in rugby union.
I will personally force-feed this contemptible person his own gizzard !
(I am ever so slightly cross, can you tell >:-( ?)
tell me where to send the cheque ! If everybody sends £5 (of the 2000 odd users) that must be around £10000, enough to OWN a reasonable server, and a decent connection for 1 year !

True hackers have ethical goals. Or at least they used to have. This guy/girl (who knows ;) is not a hacker, just a lamer kiddy.
