You mean that someone informed 3Sat that they were NOT showing a real AmigaOne + OS4 as they were expecting, but a cheap rip-off??? Awwww... boo hoo. My heart bleeds for poor old bPlan who thought they were going to get away with a major underhanded publicity stunt.
Amazing how the same old faces come to the defence of these crooks time and time again. When your precious bPlan is dead and all that's left is Amiga Inc then don't bother coming crying to us real Amiga users to take you back... we know who you are and we don't want your kind around here.

Yawn, yawn. In the 80s it was Atari, IBM and Apple that were the mortal enemies. In the 90s it was Sega and Nintendo that were offsprings of the devil. More recently, it's Microsoft and BPlan that have to endure endless streams of hatred.
Where is this going to end? Isn't it time we got over this religious hatred of other platforms? Isn't it time we got over a loyalty to a brandname and thought more about the products?
And you think if MOS disappears there'll be a mass clamouring to get back involved with AmigaOS? Don't be silly, there'd be so much bad feeling that the MOS fans would end up working with AROS or some other platform.

If you mean the 3SAT announcement that was not done by bplan. That was 3Sat's
fault. BTW: The German text on 3sat never said that they will show the AmigaOne

Ive been listening on the side lines for awhile and I have an observation/question.
Why does MOS have to be related to Amiga? Can it not stand alone as MOS running native MOS software?
Is its whole purpose to try and take over a market that was assumed available. Now that someone is has taken proper control of the Amiga product line and has plan to continue with it it is not readily available as a easily won over market.
If you remember BEOS also started on that strategy. It asuumed it could simply step in and replace the failed Commodore/Amiga. This didn't work and eventually BE moved onto other markets. Eventually MS managed to kill it with its "licensing policy"
I think If MOS is to survive(litigation aside)they should consider being them selves and stop trying to be Amiga.

Hey! Speak for yourself. I'm not one to hold grudges....especially for something so petty(You don't like the same computer as me so naff off!??!). AND provided Amiga Inc is still around....it's not going to last much longer on the Amiga name without something user friendly to back it up.

It seems you misunderstood what I said. I'm sure *bplan did* not say that they'll show an Amiga computer.
It's quite simple: neues does know "nothing" about Amiga or bplan. Already in
their "Amiga2001" show report neues has perviewed the Pegasos and has put it in
connection with Amiga (btw: neues also made some bad jokes about Amiga Inc. in
this report). Strangely back in November nobody from Amiga Inc. sent an email
to neues to correct this issue...
Ok now back to today issues:
So neues knew a bit about bplan and Pegasos because of their former coverage.
So now bplan phones neues and says: "Hey guys Pegasos and MorphOS is ready to
show". neues: "Ok, come on May 27th to our studio.". Some neues editor to the
webmaster: "Our topics for May 27th: E3, soundcards and this pegasos computer
from bplan". webmaster: "Pegasos, bplan?!". editor: "you know we already had
something about it in november, this amiga2001 thing". webmaster: "amiga?! hmm.
<does some internet research at google>ah found it: amigaone and os4. <puts it
on the website>".
That's a scenario I find *very* likely if you know how such programs get
produced.
So to sumarize it: It was not bplan's fault.

- 1 - I'am not biased. My Amiga shop sold thousands of Amiga products. I met personnaly Alan Redhouse that showed us the first AmigaOne proto last summer. I also know some of the Hyperion crew. I also know some of the MorphOS developers. I also spoke a few times with VMC ...
If I was so biased I would have put several links to my shop for example. I would have removed all the OS4 stuff ...
- 2 - I don't work for Hyperion nor AmigaInc. I'am on this board to moderate and add some news which I do. I do not select or do favoritism. If it is an AmigaOS4 news i post it, if it is a MorphOS news I post it etc ..
- 3 - Because if you were moderating this site would be completely biased and would not reflect what is going on in the Amiga communauty but what you would like the Amiga communauty to hear. I'am not happy with every news but news are news. You are free to ask Christian if you want to moderate ANN.
- 4 - Attacking the people that are serving you is not very smart. I may stop to moderate and let the site becoming a big mess. I may also ask Christian to disable the comments to stop all this recent animosity. Christian may be tired to do this efforts and stop the site. All of that for a minority of people flaming.
- 5 - GREW UP if you do not like this news item skip it. If you are frustrated because you have been waiting too long for your new Amiga go out and do some sport, take a book and learn to program, buy an Amiga software and review it ...
- 6 - I'am fed up having to say the same thing over and over and to see there is no attitude change. I think I will be away from ANN for a while.

That's speculation. The information on the neues homepage was there since
Friday afternoon. Then was weekend. Monday was holiday in Germany, Tuesday
morning bplan got the information about the canceling from 3sat.
And BTW: Nobody said that these actions were taken because of the information
that were on the homepage.

I don't see how the OEM is much different to the original Amiga model. If you bought an A1200, you HAD to have a copy of Amiga OS. And you HAD to put AmigaOS on AMIGA hardware.
Regarding the illegality of MOS....Fleecy was expressing his opinion. I assume he's basing this on MOS's ability to use Amiga software. He has a right to protect what Amiga have bought. Maybe here isn't the time or place to say that, but he said his lawyers OK'd it so...

No, that's not what happened. That doesn't make sense because the blurb at 3Sat actually talked about "Amiga One" and "OS 4.0" IIRC. I don't know what happened but that makes no sense because bPlan has no reason to market Amiga One and 4.0, quite the opposite. What, you think they will sneak a Pegasos in there and say "look how great this is, its an Amiga One, go get one from Eyetech?"
A more likely scenario would be confusion on the part of the 3Sat webpage author.
As for the recent postponement of the TV segment where bPlan cites "interference of third parties" that has Ben Hermans written all over it in my speculative opinion.
And to answer the persons who accuse Christophe Decanini of bias, that is just bull. The ANN crew is NOT biased. The complaints come from people who just can't get over the fact that MorphOS and Pegasos news are welcome and appropriate on ANN, which has been stated repeatedly by the editors.

True. Times have changed, though. I believe many are of the opinion that Amiga should be available on any platform without hardware restrictions (such as ROM protection) and thus feel so. But agreed, there are many quite valid ways to market your operating system. Until you have a monopoly, anyway.

True, he was expressing his opinion. However, bPlan is innocent until proven otherwise. Amiga have the burden of proof and so far they have chosen not to press the matter through legal channels (as far as I know), but talked about it in public WITHOUT presenting their evidence. It is sheer FUD.
It may be a good legal or business strategy, though, but it is still FUD - and quite questionable in nature, even more so should bPlan ever be found innocent.
I hope Amiga wins in court if bPlan have done something wrong, I really do. But it is far from clear that they have, and yet, due to the way Amiga have been discussing the matter, a lot of work done by the MorphOS team and bPlan have been veiled in illegality to many people - without any specific evidence.
This is what makes it quite questionable. I say, take it to courts and determine the legality, and out on the market may the better product win.
