The World of Amiga show is fast approaching, there is just over a month to go to one of the most eagerly anticipated Amiga shows this year.

As always, doors will be open at 12 Noon, However, like last year we anticipate a large queue at opening time. So if you want to waltz past everyone, why not get your tickets before the show?

Buy five tickets or more and you pay only £3.00 each instead of the usual £3.50 per ticket.

I'm almost certainly going but haven't purchased an advance ticket yet.

theirs.
Also, Amiga CANNOT Ban anyone whom they don't like out of WOASE.
It's Organised and Run by FIVE uk usergroups, ANT, ASA, HAUG, Kickstart and
SEAL. We offer space to everyone, Amiga attends like everyone else.
One day, perhaps Amiga will go back to hosting their own UK show, but
for now....

if, on the otherhand, there was going to be Amithlon v2, AmigaOne running OS4 beta, Pegasos boards to buy *with* MorphOS fully working, then i might just book me some of them there tickets.

The only sensible approach is to show everything that is interesting.
Not only all Amiga-like products, but things that might be useful with
Amigas such as sound cards, digital cameras, ink and paper supplies,

It would be extremely cool if there was some sort of fight between Amiga Inc. and Thendic-France reps at the show. Depending on the number of people involved and the severity of injuries sustained it would no doubt atttract the attention of mainstream computer mags or even national daily newspapers, thus bringing both parties much-needed media coverage.
Firearms has to be the way to go. I mean, a shootout between Amiga and Thendic would be fantastic. And its guaranteed to make international headlines!
Since firearms are illegal in the UK this might be a bit hard to organise, but Belfast is only a small car journey and ferry ride away.
Note that I'm not saying anyone should get killed or anything like that but you have to admit it would be very cool to see "Amiga" on the front pages of all the newspapers in the world

WOASE is THE BIGGEST UK event and is attended by the most active
UK and European Amigans. If theres a non-attendence then its well
remembered.
AmigaONE + AOS4.x will win in the UK for sure now.
Elbox suffered for not appearing at last years show. there were no
Mediators or related products at the show....and yet the wallets
with cash and the writers of all the mags/fanzines etc were there.

This is incredibly naughty of them! I was basically the one who initiated contact with Thendic about appearing at the show and they were very enthusiastic about it. Then yesturday I receive a CC: email from them with a VERY weak explanation as to why they would not be appearing after all.
Now this VERY stupid, and badly written news reply. I mean, what does "TOO BAD!" convey exactly? that they dont give a s***? that they dont care that their reputation will have just taken a Big knock.
I personally think they have gotten cold feet and are scared by the possibility of a little competition. Well competition is healthy - it means the companies involved strive to make a better product.
This is their loss mainly, but also the UK scenes loss. As show organisers we are deeply saddened that they have pulled out, would be happy if they reconsidered (though we would Insist that they now pay for thier tables up front Before the show (as would Elbox if they ever decide they want to attend a UK show)>.
Just one more thing - dont let this put you off comming to the show - it will still be a wonderful event with or without Thendic being presant.

Erm, what about My (and Sam Thomas and Nick Darley Jones') Mediator support table?
I don't classify that as "no Mediators..." !! Ok, so there were not any for sale but we had tremendous interest shown at out table throughout the show, throughout the Alt-WOA show as well and with myself now having USB and Matt Allert (writer of the serial PCI card drivers) being on the table this year it should be Brilliant one more time!!! ;)

If Elbox had been there, then everyone agreed that they'd have sold at least
50 of their boards (perhaps more!) as well as lots of PCI addons and MMCD's
(dont forget, this was before the CD was bundled with the board).
Amigans are fed up of only seeing products...they want to BUY.
If Pegasos doesnt show up----as one of their 'BETATESTERS' events perhaps. then
AmigaONE *WILL* be there to fill the void. once that hardwares been invested
in (the price includes the OS4.x which will be supplied at a later date)
then Pegasos is out of the picture.

I have emailed Thendic asking for confirmation that they have indeed
pulled out. (The email sent to me wasn't from the usual email address) I will wait until Thursday, if after that I do not hear from
them, I will assume the email and indeed the posting on here was
genuine.
If they have indeed pulled out an official WOASE press release will
follow on Friday.
Do not despair though, I have some other interesting news to announce
as soon as I get the OK.

It would appear that the whole "Thendic pulling out of WoaSE" is a complete hoax!
Both the email the show organisers recieved AND the stupid, petty post earlier are both hoaxes.
Not only were they not from the normal email address (which I stupidly did not notice) but Ive just had an email from Bill saying that they ARE still comming to the show.
Therefore I publically appologize to Thendic for hinting they got scared (its been prooven before they Are NOT scared by Amiga.Inc) and would like to tell this hoaxster to watch his back!
