Elbox Computer, the real & creative manufacturer of hardware for Amiga computers, the pathfinder for the PCI standard in Amiga computers, is proud to announce expansion of the MEDIATOR busboard product line with the new Mediator model for Amiga 4000D computers: the Mediator PCI 4000Di. With this product, every Amiga 4000D user gains the chance to use up to 4 PCI cards in the standard A4000 desktop case, thus significantly improving his/her computer's performance.

"Elbox Computer, the real & creative manufacturer of hardware for Amiga computers, the pathfinder for the PCI standard in Amiga computers" ...
Doesn't anyone else think this is too much marketing speak...? Why not let the customer decide whether a manufacturer is "creative" or a "pathfinder"?

@CK
Sure it is marketing talk, and one year ago I probably would have agreed with you. But now I think Elbox have solidified themselves as *THE* PCI provider.
Not to speak bad against the other solutions, or at least Prometheus . I used to own a Prometheus and was a pretty vocal Matay fan, and it is a fine product. But Elbox has really pulled ahead of the pack.

Elbox Rocks! This is really great, but late considering the A1XE and stuff. If it was just a little sooner I'd have bought it. Now one just doesn't have the cash to everything! It is the ONLY product that enables one to keep using upgraded machines(video toaster etc..) and having up to date hardware on it on the desktop A4000(!), so it's completely cool.

Gotta hand it to them. The Elbox guys sure can pump out nice hardware. If they'd just get more drivers rolling........

Well, it's a nice piece of "kit" (I think that's the correct British word I'm grasping for); pity no AGP slot, but all things considered not a bad little board at any rate. Let's see...Sound, network, video, USB+Firewire, ATA100 controller card...yeah, that'd make a good update for someone with a desktop 4000. Plus the Shark PPC card if/when that shows up.
Stick OS4 on there and you're movin' and groovin'.
Is/was the A4000's video slot on it's daughtercard? If so that might leave some Toaster4000 users out in the cold.

That makes 5 cards... And sadly, this has only got 4 slots!
Try again :)

The only Product for A4kD??? Humm.. so i have to tell all Grex Users, they should remove their
Voodoo Cards, because they cannot work, because its not Elbox? ;-)

I hope that its not too hard to implement support for all the different PCI busboards in OS 4.0 for classic PPC Amigas.

I'm spending some time playing Payback on my classic Amiga these days. Thanks to Elbox I can finally have some really fast graphics. I wonder if I would get more or less FPS by using an SB128 and NallePuh?
Anyway, Elbox are giving people with classic Amigas a chance to have some jolly good fun with it. If I had a 4000D there's NO doubt in my mind I would rush out and buy this.
The only thing I'm missing is Linux support.

Umm, not for me! I'll be getting the 3000D model, and building my own tower. 6PCI and 7 Zorro3? Sounds like a wet dream to me:-)

Nope, there is no chance I'm getting my 3k out of it's box. Why would I have it look like an ordinary PC, when I could have a Voodoo + USB + SB in there?

It's all about the room, man:-) The A3kD was nice in it's time case wise, but I need ROOM! Nowhere to put even a single CD drive in a A3k case, let alone multiple 5&1/4 devices. 4 Zorro slots are not enough either! Give me the biggest, fattest, ugliest full tower on the market, and I have found love:-D
Amigas are about the joy of use to me, not really a nostalgic look. I want to hook everything and it's brother to my A3000, and not have it sprawled across a desk:-)

Well I think Elbox is both. Whiout Elbox we would not have good PCI-solution. G-Rex and others really can't compete.

I really wish Elbox could integrate the bridgeboard into the backplane, so that one could keep all the ports intact.
Mind you, am I correct in thinking that you could add a PCI card in the slot immediately above the bridgeboard, so that it'd fit onto the lowermost blanking plate, leaving the above three free for Zorro or PCI cards?
BTW, what's the story on compatibility so far on the big-box Mediators?

Well, I think the A3000 is one of the better-looking computer cases out there (though servicing it is a tart!), and I also happen to think that a slim (well, at least by 1989 standards, and certainly by common contemporary PC standards, Japan excluded) desktop case with one or two slim SCSI cases looks a lot better and professional in all respects than a big hunking tower, especially an ugly one.
