In a posting here on ANN, Bolton Peck finally breaks his silence. He reports about his time at Amiga Inc., the court trial against his former employer and informs us who is the real CEO of Amiga. Moreover, Bolton gives a general overview into what has happened behind the scenes during the past 3 years... Click here!

Thats a pretty sad account. Boy am I glad neither the AmigaONE or OS4 projects relies upon the financial stability of Amiga, Inc!

ok, thats really bad, and I know a few other people in the IT industry who have similar tales with their companies... (and worse, believe it or not!)

One question though - who is Bolton Peck and what did he actually do?

Well, who knows. I'd suggest that if people get them they should send 'em all to Bolton and his family. But I think the Boing Ball doesn't exactly get anyone around there off too well. That, and it sounds a little too "We Are The Worldy" : }

I'm sure Bolton would just prefer to have some cash {did I get that right, tronman? ; }

"(29-Apr-2003) Amiga, Inc. announces that Bill McEwen the CEO of Amiga, Inc. will once again attend AmiWest."

"Yesterday, (April 30, 2003) Bill McEwen told my attorney under oath that he's no longer CEO of Amiga"

So McBill was CEO on the 29th and not on the 30th? I'd like some answers from Amiga Inc, but then... whats the point? It would just be more bullsh**

Really, I think it's time for Amiga Inc to just call it a day and shut up shop. Sell the IP to someone who can actually make something of it (Hyperion/Genesi/whoever..).

That's remarkable. Amiga was never *that* popular in the Netherlands. Could be interresting though! If it's true then they must very much like the concept of AmigaOS 4. Or it's for their own reasons..

I'll agree on one thing though. The company should have never returned to the USA. All that was created the last couple of years was created in Europe and still is being created in Europe.

I hope and doubt that this will have any impact on OS4 and the AmigaOne though.

But I'm beginning to get very interrested in where this will all lead.

how about $50 towards something you can get now, play with, help code if you want...etc...even sell (like redhat sells linux) .... it's called AROS.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day... teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime.

Let Mr. Peck learn to fish rather than wish.

Lot's of us have been burned in the history of Amiga troubled waters.

$50 towards AROS development will go a long way for all of us.

IMO, that was obviously only some damage control efforts by their webmaster. Cover one lie with another lie. That can't continue forever. Sooner or later you run out of fairy tales, you get cornered and eventually you will see the meaninglessness in continuing.

No. If you go back in time you will see that Amiga Inc was never really interested in Amiga OS. The Amiga OS was not the concept they sold to the VC's, it was the AmigaDE/Anywhere or whatever it was called. It's all there if you do some searching.

I know. Thats not new to me. I also never liked the idea of AmigaDE/Anywhere.

A consortium might have bought into it to see the release of AmigaOS 4 and the AmigaOne( and maybe even more hardware) as a main product.

I'm only interrsted in one thing! New fast hardware and the continuation of the AmigaOS.

I don't think so. If that would have been the main product, do you really think that AmigaInc (after *some time*) would have more or less given it away to Hyperion and Eyetech?

If this is true, the only thing I hope is that AOS stays with the people it is now. But what about the IP?.
Anyway. If the "name" is sold again, it'll will defenitly be a bad thing for AOS cause there will be confusion in the public. One company with the name and IP. Other with the OS.
When will it all belong to companies that really supported the Amiga.
Maybe the remaining companies could gather and buy it.
Eyetech and Hyperion (etc.) anyone? But it's said that it belongs to some Dutch consortium already?! :/ Damn.
If this goes wrong, now is the time I'll stop being an Amiga user. And I bet most of us.
IF this is true, damn you AmigaInc. for not leting the remaining Amiga companies get the name and IP. So much talk, if those intentions were true you'd have done that. Where's your moral?.

@SantaClaus,

NOOOOO NOOOO thats where you are wrong.

It sounded very genuine to me, because its exactly how people end up working
without a paycheck.

First its delayed, and you are very concerned, but it takes time to find a job,
but then they catch up....then it happens again. Pretty soon, its very upsetting, but you know they always caught up before....

its how you end up doing it for two months.....I've seen it before.
It does happen...if this story is true, then don't blame the victim.
And there is nothing wrong in the logic, to think its not true.

But with all things on the internet, lets wait and see.

If the current amiga inc are really gone, I'm 3/4 glad; Hyperion and Eyetech will be able to get on with it without worrying about Amiga inc's mismanagement screwing it up for them, On the otherhand if someone that is less posistive towards Hyperion and Eyetech takes over they could make it very difficult for them :(.

Yeah, but with the difference that the current AInc. would market it as if it was their own product.(And gain some profit). The new company would only have a competing product. I might be wrong though. But then again, they might no go bankrupt for the new owners to be able to buy the OS. That would be scum.
Would that be possible? Can anyone with knowledge of the contract with Hyperion confirm that?
