ok let's face it...

amigaos 4 showed up
amigaone showed up already

but amigaos 4 still isn't ported to amigaone so the whole story is pointless. you are showing a newish os on outdated hardware and move from country to country to disqualify yourself with the so called new os which is still not running on amigaone while the competitor is already producing the next generation of it's previously released hardware/software. sorry this thing is dead already.

Eh, the report is erroneous.. for example, Ben Hermans never said they
had implemented swapping, on the contrary this seems to be on the "to
do" list. He did speculate a lot on how good it would be, though. I
guess it's forgivable since mr Hermans often seem to start daydreaming
when people are asking him questions about the actual development
status. For example, when people asked about Java support, RAID
support, etc etc, he never ever said "we don't have any plans for
that". If it was something with some kind of realism in it, he said
"that's for 4.1". And if it was totally way out, the answer was
always: "that's for 4.2".

He allow seed that they where going to keep the OS4.0 under Hyperion wings for now.

Funny, I've always envisioned Ben Hermans as looking much more menacing.

In reply to Comment 3 (Johan Rönnblom):
It’s not what the report is saying, his commenting on coming feature, one of the demo tester talked about the swap being added, however the feature in it’s self not being completed yet, on the top of the screen there is missing text displaying the swap space free.

One thing I found interesting on the tour is that where giving out gifts, and 2 out of 3 that won, head an Amiga500 only, and the last one head a Amiga4000 that needed reapers.

That makes me wonders if targeting AmigaOS4.0 for first forAmiga4000 is a good idea.

if you're referring to my A4000, I can inform you that it's in perfectly good shape and sitting next to my pc on my desk.

In reply to Comment 7 (Kjetil):
And what would have been the other choice ?
Porting it 1st to the A1, before they remove the chip-set-dependancies ?

They had to start on the A4000, sice they started from OS3.x. If they had
started from AROS it might have been a possibilty, but that was not what
they did.

Ok, this report is contradicting what the programmers of the OS have stated. Quite puzzling.

In reply to Comment 9 (Kronos):
I suppose slightly more sales if they port to CSPPC too (ok, chipset dependency was prolly the main factor ;)

... kinda surprised 2 out of 3 had A500's!
