Here are the release notes for the latest version:

This release is now pretty much up to speed with the GNU classpath as it was before with sun's rt.jar. Some Socket-methods have not been implemented yet (i.e. you can only write client-sockets, no server-sockets). Therefore, all java.* - packages except java.awt *should* work now. GNU is stepping towards JDK 1.4, so please do some heavy testing with all kinds of stuff! Attention though, there is a known bug with Sockets and Multiple Threads!

Great job! Now work on those server sockets!

A small comment: there was some discussion on wether to base awt of Reaction or MUI. You must realize that Java (both AWT and Swing) contains it's own - very complex - layout engine. MUI's advanced layout capabilities will be totally wasted, since they won't be used at all. The best thing IMHO would be to base awt on plain BOOPSI, or even old-style Intuition gadgets if that's possible... Less cycles wasted :-)

In reply to Comment 6 (AnonX):
Hello AnonX

one of the basic principles of open source software is "release soon, release often". If you don't want to hear about new releases - don't read them.
