There is absolutely nothing misleading about my statement.

I said "OS 4" is running on the AmigaOne.

I didn't claim OS 4 was free of bugs and releasable.

Is that the Radeon P96 driver in action on those screenshots?

no tranqui, e' quello vero. Chiedi pure a massimiliano tretene, che allo sviluppo di OS4 ci collabora.

No, it's the true AOS4. Ask massimiliano tretene... :-)

Yep, that's the idea.

I don't know if you can make such a tagitem extension without
creating something messy. I would simply make the rule that
such "big" values need to passed by reference. Ie. instead
of

{GA_Gravity, 1.0}

you do

double gravity = 1.0;

{GA_Gravity, &gravity).

Kinda already happens with string attributes (if boopsi class not just
saves pointer, but also copies contents to internal buffer).

Think again, you would support the competition aka MorphOS with this. Wasn't it Ben or Allan or Fleecy "barry" Moss who actually didn't want to support the aMozilla project because of "potentially supporting the others"? (not that they would have money to donate anyway).

It will surely need a new API. Problem is that many legacy programs will read/handle tag items directly.
However, especially on a 64 bit system the limitations of tag items might become a problem since 64 bit integers and pointers will become the rule rather than the exception.

Why hide behind something like "AG2"? What are you ashamed of?

What a funny sentence :) I was a longtime contributor and supporter of Galeon who even wrote the backup system for Bookmarks. While you are talking about bloat.

- Mozilla is on it's own (23mb Mozilla).
- Galeon depends on Gecko which requires a full Mozilla installation and GNOME libraries (23mb Mozilla + 5mb Galeon + 50mb GNOME).

Now where are we with bloat again ? Mozilla is a single applications while Galeon depends on Mozilla and GNOME which obviously is 20 times more bloat than you may have guessed. The reason why Galeon or Epiphany was written is to have an application with Native widgetset for the GNOME Desktop using GTKEmbeddMoz. Unfortunately Gecko is still not fitting this gap because it's tied to XUL and all the bloat around.

I've just come back and it's true i've seen AmigaOne and Os4!!!
AmigaOne is not just booting is working you can use the system: mui, shell, ibrowse, scout.. play voxel demo or watch some movie!!
To be completely honest you can't try to do much more because of the beta state but it's much more than just booting!
If you want to know more just ask...

bye

P.S. Great work Hyperion!!!

No, that's called "software compatibility". "LONG" is not guaranteed to be the same as "long", "LONG" is always guaranteed to be 32bit, as simple as that.

If you want to use "long", then use "long", not "LONG".

Hard to say they didn't reboot many times, actually they didn't reboot at all except to move the computer for the conference.
I rebooted personally the version on a cyberstorm, 3 or 4 times and it's not extremely fast, more or less the same as on a 060 (sorry i didn't think to count the seconds).
I saw the reboot of Amigaone just once, and it's quite slow, but it's not a normal procedure yet, it's much more than cyberstorm version however.

Why doesn't everyone use
uint8
uint16
uint32
uint64

and even
float24 (supported in the embedded world)
float32
float64

or people will continue to get bitten by this..

I agree Uint8, Sint8... etc... are great, and should be used as standard. But that doesn't help the problem we have with Taglists... :-(

Something tells me the GUI is not hardware accelerated. After watching the movies i'm kinda dissapointed by the apparent slowness of the GUI especially when doing solid resizing :(
