looks like the ATI Radeon 9200 driver needs some serious work... look how the 8500 clearly wins on the gfx.

pity noones submitted the results for a PIV-3.4GHz/ATI9800 or somesuch...as
it'd soon put to rest this little 'result'

No wonder. A Radeon 8500 is way faster than a 9200SE.

>pity noones submitted the results for a PIV-3.4GHz/ATI9800 or somesuch...

Only Athlon 2100+, ATI Radeon 9700 has been provided so far (Graphics
result: 23644 (800x600x16))

I wouldn't trust this benchmark just yet, not until it works without generating millions of hits.

Even the PowerD startup code is severely broken.

You are aware that the Radeon 9200 is slower than the 8500, right?

It's closer to the 7500 or even 7000 than the 8500 in design. More features in the 9200 (as all 9x00 series) but for speed, it's pretty poor.

320x200 32bit (16 bit PC mode does crash UAE)

2d 17948
Math 68K 1341
Int 468
Harddisk 312
Memory 500

My machine: Pentium 4 3,4 GHZ, Radeon 9800SE, HT+FSB 500

I was expecting something higher.

You're still dealing with the fact that all of your drivers are emulated under UAE/Amithlin while they are native for the Pegasos w/ MorphOS.

Sure, there's still emulation of the 68k binaries, but the actual drivers for things are native, so of course they'd be faster than emulated.

My graphics are faster on my Amithlon setup, I get 96854 (and yes its at 800x600x16) and only with a GeForce 2. (Up to GeForce FX is supported on Amithlon)...also my math is much faster, coming in at 1638.

CPU is a Athlon XP 2400+ not overclocked with 256 megs of PC2100 memory.

But anyway these are just benchmarks. I've seen a Peg-1 and it *does* feel just as fast as my Amitlhon setup. I can only imagine that the Peg-2 feels even faster than the Peg-1.

Last time I tried Amigod on the Pegasos it was still 68k and it was causing a lot of memory hits resulting in several pages of debug sent through the serial port.
I use Amigamark for CPU / MEM / DISK and p96speed for GFX tests.
There is no native version yet of a GFX benchmark for MorphOS.

Yes, but my Pentium 4 3,4 GHZ is ~2 times as fast as my old Dual AMD 1600+ machine with DDR266 and TI4600 - in sysinfo.

My guess is that this system should at least as fast as a 2400+

Lukas, the reason you got such a low score is because of the Radeon. Amithlon can only run those cards in 'VESA' mode, which is very slow. GeForce cards run in hardware-accelerated mode and so are much faster.

I'll try the benchmark on my Amithlon system later and see what I get. It's an Athlon XP 3200+ with a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 and dual-channel DDR400 so it should have a reasonable chance of defeating the Peg II.

I had long since sent in my Peg-1 results for AmiGod2, and I look forward to seeing a Peg-][/G3 results comparable to a Peg-1. I mean, we expect the G4 to perform better, but I want to see what difference the other parts make :-)

I have an 040/Mediator/Voodoo3 a1200 that I could add to the list of classic tests. I'de offer to run a test on my Amithlon, but the darned fan on it's PSU failed (grumble grumble).

No, Radeons have only very basic non-accelerated support in Amithlon no matter what kernel you use. Matrox cards work in accelerated mode, as do GeForce 2 & 3 cards, and I've produced an updated kernel that supports GeForce 4 cards (Ti accelerated, MX not yet).

"Amiga" is a trademark for a computer product owned by Amiga Inc., "Pegasos" is a trademark for a computer product owned by Genesi S.à.r.l. The statement that the Pegasos II would be the best Amiga ever is a contradiction and an impossibility. Unless of course, Genesi would have a license for using the Amiga brand, which they don't.
