What's the best beer to drink while using your Amiga?
*Disclamer*
Remember to use caution when using beer near you computer. Spilling beer in to your keyboard can cause hazardous and unknown effects.

Posted by minator on 29-Jul-2004 22:37 GMT | Beer? why Beer?
We need a drink which is small, efficient, has been around for some time and is a pleasure to use.
Of course we also want there to be different kinds :-)
Might I suggest Whiskey?
I'm not a whiskey drinker usually but I'd go for Bushmills, though I'm biased as I have family there :-)
If you insist on a Beer just give me something from Belgium, I'm quite partial to Leffe or Grimbergen but they do plenty of good beers - including some very "efficient" beers like Duvel. |

I seriously thought of divorsing and re-marrying to get another bottle. I couldn't find it anywhere where I live :( |

Personally, I'd go for just about any good beer. I'm terribly fond of Velkopopovicky Kozel Dark these days though. |

Posted by Anonymous on 29-Jul-2004 23:25 GMT | When it comes down to beer, if I can see through the glass of beer when I hold it up to a light, it's not dark enough. I would say close to 99% of the american horse piss is proof that my countrymen have no clue what beer is. Guinness extra stout isn't bad, but I've had better, just don't know the names. Most of the better beer I've had is either from the oddball parts of scotland or in the "micro pubs" of germany. |

(That act alone could cause an "international incident")

Posted by Crumb // AAT on 30-Jul-2004 04:51 GMT | Franciscanner, Leffe, Satan, Judas, Quack, Skaldis ... the first two are the softest, but I love the taste of Franciscanner. The next ones are a little stronger, and the last one is quite strong (IRC it has 12.5º). It depends on how drunk you want to get... some coders say that their code quality increases with the amount of alcohol the drink but I don't think I'm in the same group. Fortunately, the alcohol quantity I drink doesn't affect my code much, it's as crap as always :-D |

Beer:
Carlsberg or Tuborg as a refreshing summer drink
Newcastle Brown Ale fits nicely in with a single malt in the other hand ;-)
Guiness when you're in the "dark and bitter" mood |

Posted by ujb on 30-Jul-2004 07:31 GMT | In reply to Comment 15 (minator): Oh yes - Duvel! That makes your day. Sadly difficult to get in Germany, but whenever I am in the Netherlands (or of course Belgium, but this happens only rare) it's Duvel time. There are plenty other Belgium beeres which are really cool.
But for generic usage I prefer German Pils beers from the West i.e. Krombacher, Bit (they shold offer a bundle of 8 bottles which they could sell as byte then) or Pinkus. in summertime those Bavarian white beers are very refreshing (Paulaner has a nice (flash) site @ www.paulaner.de available in Bavarian, German, English) |
