Dietmar Eilert writes on his homepage: "I regret to inform AmigaOS users that all software on this web site is now discontinued (due to lack of time on my side to continue with AmigaOS software development)." Intellectual property rights related to GoldED are now on sale whilst the Distributed BASIC interpreter will be released under GPL.

GoldED developer leaves the Amiga : Comment 21 of 27 | ANN.lu |

Enlighten me, what are your reasons to say that ? It's ok but not "best" material in my eyes. I've tried many, too, and beyond being small it eludes me what's so good about it (and while small used to be good in the old days, today I couldn't care less, just give me lots of features, please). For example, in the same class (small, not fancy, rather restricted set of features) there used to be TurboText, FrexxEd and some other contenders. I consider FrexxEd the best one here, TurboText and CED both having too many serious missing features (no undo in the case of TT, see above regarding CED). |
