Dietmar Eilert writes on his homepage: "I regret to inform AmigaOS users that all software on this web site is now discontinued (due to lack of time on my side to continue with AmigaOS software development)." Intellectual property rights related to GoldED are now on sale whilst the Distributed BASIC interpreter will be released under GPL.

GoldED developer leaves the Amiga : Comment 27 of 27 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Hrw on 08-Apr-2002 13:38 GMT | In reply to Comment 24 (Keith Blakemore-Noble): "It's a shame to see GoldEd no longer developed (although I can understand why). It is, IMHO, *the* best text editor I have ever seen on any platform, and I definitly never regretted buying or updating. "
I used GoldED version 4.7x and CED 4.20 - 1st for programming 2nd for articles writing and small scripts editing (CED had faster start). Ged lacks TABs before V5 but V5/V6 was too Windoze (those cltr-c/v/x instead lamiga-c/v/x was uncomfortably) so after trying them I switched back to GED4 and CED. |
