Or were you thinking of "old" heavily custom Mac hardware (even though other OSs than Apples also run on that hardware)? I was not. When you say "you", you also touch another important aspect. If AmigaOS was also for sale separate from hardware, without the compulsory licensing/hardware-vendor-installed-dongle idiocy, then it wouldn't necessarily have to be Hyperion who did the porting work. A third (or fourth...) party could do it, like the way Bernie Meyer, i.e. somebody else than AInc/Hyperion/H&P et al., is enabling AmigaOS 3.x to run on x86 hardware with Amithlon today, or like phase5/H&P once made AmigaOS run on a hodgepodge of 68k+PPC with Warp/PowerUp.
