Considering MPlayer supports asf and wmv already through the opensource libavcodec (ffmpeg project), you don't need an emulation for those, and additionally MPlayer supports the external LinuxPPC RealPlayer codecs, so with some effort it would be possible to use those instead (ie, no emulation necessary at all), like Frogger already does btw...
MPlayer (after xine, and now libavcodec too) also recently got native (ie, no external codecs) support for the old RealAudio1&2 codecs thanks to <shamelessplug>The Amiga Alternative Audio Page - http://www.honeypot.net/audio/ </shamelessplug>... ;))
