But IIRC they were not written by Amiga authors but taken from other sources (one codec was posted anonymously to USENET).

BTW, I have been working on getting a FFMPEG based player working on the Amiga. It's currently slow, *very* hackish (writes directly to my gfx card video mem :) but already plays every AVI/MPG/WMV/ASF I have to hand.
